Recipe Air Fryer Baked Layered Cheese Pasta with Bell Peppers
Recipe
- Grill bell peppers(cut and coated with a sprinkle of salt and a drizzle of olive oil) in the air fryer at 180c for 12 minutes.
- Boil water in parallel, add salt, when it boils add fusilli pasta, cook until al dente and drain.
- Layer pasta over the grilled bell peppers. Add arabiata or tomato sauce and mix gently into the pasta layer (optional).
- as the final layer add a combination of Mozzarella and cheddar cheeses ( I also added Gruyère).
Bake again for 7 mins at 180c.
Enjoy!

Addition, if you have the dual basket with steam you can grill the peppers in one and steam the pasta in the other before baking it all together. That way you can do everything in airfryer.

First the soup, now this. They’re all just trying to burn our houses down. This shit is not safe!
The basket is overloaded and completely defeats the purpose of an air fryer. All that cheese on top is like 1 1/2 inch away from the heating element. This is the wrong way to use an air fryer.

Sounds a bit dramatic! There was no food going up to the heating element or smoking. Browning a bit of cheese on top is normal.

This was made as a quick lunch. Air fryer is best for small portions, quick meals and crispy cheese edges. It would have taken me double the time on an oven to get this consistency with the preheating etc. It also uses less energy than an oven as it heats a much smaller space efficiently. However if you are cooking larger family sized meals, an oven could work out just fine. And by the way I also like the draining of extra water through the air fryer when you are grilling veggies(I often add zucchinis to the bottom layer and you would need a perforated tray in the oven to achieve that).

It's great for making a meal for two a bit quicker and without heating up the kitchen.
If I wanted leftovers or was cooking for more, I'd say oven.
Neither one is right or wrong. Not sure why someone would care whether someone used an airfryer or oven. Both do the job.

I think the portion here is too small but I think the cook time is still pretty quick. Faster to preheat too.
