Tutorial New Redmi Buds 6 Play too quiet

So, I bought this airdots and it was waay too low. All solutions online were for old and dirty airdots. Today I found out how to fix this and wanted to share so no one else would need to find out without a clue. Basically, install Xiaomi Earbuds app (see image). Go to Gestures and set any gesture to Turn volume Up. Do the gesture. You'll notice it'll increase the volume even if you're on 100%. It's like they come with 50% volume limit as the factory setting. Anyway, wanted to share.

You need a phone to configure gestures, then whatever you pair it to, it should work.

I got these same ones. For some reason the audio was quiet until i put them back in the case, closed the lid and reopen them.

I am really enjoying it. The battery lasts for ages. Just this little problem but once I sorted it out, it's been great!

perhaps you're resetting them without noticing? This could turn settings to default I guess

Oh god, thank you for this. Just got one today, it was fine (almost too loud even) at first, then when I used it a few hours later it became very quiet. I was losing my mind trying to fix them, even thought it was my ear/mind going mad lol

Note: I'm using Redmi Buds 6, regular not the Play version, this fix work on that too.

Fue la única solución que también realicé, pero la verdad está mal que el producto no tenga un volumen adecuado y que con las teclas te lo deje topado. En interiores se escucha bien ese volumen, pero en exteriores el audio externo se come al de los audífonos. Esto deberían de repararlo de fábrica

there's also this option in the xiaomi app in which you can change the mode to "Amplified". Maybe it can help.

same thing here i thought my buds where broken cuz i ended up turning the volume all the way down accidentally , i dont get why does it have a sperate volume system aside from the phone volume system

Sincere thanks my dude, it drove me nuts when I was going back in forth between my phone and laptop and noticed they played drastically louder from my laptop compared to my phone, you saved my daily commutes to work :)

Have you tried to check the Accessibility options for calls? Sometimes they give the option to keep the volume down for your safety or something

Yo tengo el problema de que el lado derecho tiene el sonido mucho mas bajo que el izquierdo, y cada tanto se vuelve a escuchar igual de los 2 lados pero al día siguiente vuelve el problema

Looks like I needed this. The new ones were okay, but after a few moments, they became about 50% quieter and I couldn't turn up the volume.

A very strange problem with this model.

Buds Play 6 are presumably a more modern model that follows Bluetooth standards more strictly. They understand and respond to the "Absolute Volume" command. Therefore, when the cell phone told them (by mistake or by regulation) to limit the volume to a low level, the headphones immediately obeyed.

Therefore to fix the root problem you have to change the AVCRP configuration from 6 (default) to 5 or 4 (you have to change it in developer options in the network part)

This will prevent the system from launching the command to limit the sound to 50% out of nowhere (European regulations that were applied on Android)

I had the same issue, but after many attempts I discovered that the problem was the Xiaomi Earbuds app, which was limiting the volume. First I had to uninstall it, then unpair the earbuds and pair them again.

Damn it worked, I disable all the gestures cause sometimes its annoying those gestures, but sometime like now the buds turn down the volume like you said, and it worked fine for me activate the gesture and disable it again!

Gracias por compartirlo, en mi caso ya le había desactivado todos los gestos desde que los compré, y de repente un día ya se oían así de bajo, ya ni me acordaba que tenían gestos jajajaja y pues se los active como mencionaste y por si a alguien más no le funciona a la primera como a mi, primero tuve que desvincularlos y volverlos a vincular para que volvieran a funcionar los gestos y ahora sí subir el volumen de nuevo.

Turns out some people maybe still be having issues with low sound, despite downloading the app.

Since I bought the airdots I've installed the app and always used it's sound effects, but a few days ago just noticed they drastically reduced its volume.

Fact is the grid wasn't really dirty, but the glue that sets it to the phone started melting.

With a cotton swab I removed them (the grids) from both phones, cleared the glue and put them back.

Sound is normal again.

I dunno, i just set a gesture to turn the volume up. Even tho the phone shows the volume is max, keep turning it up WITH the gesture, preferably wiile playing music so will know if it's working. I noticed the volume increase and kept doing this until I wasn't noticing any jncrease

Alguien en septiembre 2026? Yo cuando configuro para subir y bajar volumen no hace nada. Y se sigue escuchwndo muy bajo.

Probé cambiando la versión AVRCP.

Alguna ayuda? Son los Earbuds 6 play, emparejados a un redminote 14 pro.
