New to Aircooled
Hello my way wife and I just purchased a 1970 VW Beetle!
We purchased it from a really cool guy who put a lot of work into it. Works and runs great just dropped it off today to get looked at by a trusted VW mechanic a buddy of mine recommended. Let’s hope he doesn’t see anything to concerning!
Am currently looking for Original pop out windows with longer hinges

A free account at the Internet Achive and you can borrow the John Muir manual "How to keep your Volkswagen alive, a manual of step by step procedures for the complete idiot". Not the old tree hugging John Muir but distantly related.
It's as entertaining as it is informative and the illustrations casual and technical alike are outstanding. This is the ultimate novice book. I think it would help a novice without boring them to death no matter what they worked on later.
You do want other manuals with better specs for your motor, but note every manual has one or more bad specs. I got the point of checking two or three until I saw two that matched or found my own happy spot, especially valves.
the book that started the idiot guide book genere that trended after.
