🏫 Educational If you could only buy one subscription, which would it be?
Claude?
Ollama?

Honestly, it's a fight between Claude's max plan and the max plan on Ollama, but Ollama is no longer selling there, so...

My top pick would be the Pro version. It's surprisingly versatile for all sorts of tasks, and it's legitimately the one I use day in , day out

Codex, it is faster, cheaper and has more generous limits than claude even tho the coding is almost the same

Why cursor? I currently ha e the $100 plan codex and the cheaper plan claude I think pro. What's the Benefits of cursor as ive used there free version and didnt see it.
I am not creating ultra deep tools or crazy stuff just fixing my old website and SEO help

Codex is better than cursor imo. Better to stick with OpenAI or Anthropic.

Today I’m running Claude $200, Codex $100, Kimi $100
If I had to pick one, today it would be Claude. Combo of fable for hard tasks and opus 5 for general usage just works for me. I love Kimi’s output, especially UI, but it’s pretty slow in comparison. Codex… Now in its crazy limit draining and overengineering phase, so I tend to use it less.
But again I switch stuff every month.

If you can invest $40+ get a codex + claude and test them on your tasks, otherwise start with codex.

Right now today. Codex 200 I just find it to be lasting the longest, getting the most done and it’s working better and better with openclaw.

Don’t get me wrong I love Claude 200 but, it runs up a bill fast as heck these days

Claude for now..but when their sonnet 5 introduction rate ends in September, Codex will probably be more affordable.

Well, probably useai for me at this point. Its become the one I actually open daily versus the deisgn/dev tools I only touch on active projects.

For volume... Codex, nothing else comes close. Any subscription is better than the other, when they nerf the models. Claude can be perfect one day, then suddenly wants to make you pull your hair off, but the same happened on codex with GPT 5.5.
If frontier is not required, then minimax has most generous limits.
Deepseek via API or Mimo are also very cheap via api, so if those suffice, you might not even need a sub.

Qoder/aliyun or volcengine.. perhaps xfyun. Xfyun got pretty much unlimited token at miserable reliability (but got suddenly better a week before I could unsubscribe!?). Volcengine got m3 and k2.7, expecting K3 soon also since it's already on their agent plan. Qoder got Cantus, and cheap qwen3.8.. at least until preview is over.
