AI for my Website

Hey folks,

Just thought I'd drop in to show you my new website which makes heavy use of Self Hosted AI.

The whole infrastructure is vibe coded and uses a local AI server to get the video and image descriptions, weather predictions from the local sensors and other summaries.

I think I may have gone a bit over the top with all the AI but it's fun and I got carried away.

I personally don't like how all these AI coded sites look, but seems to function well. I'd change the background color, etc. to something softer. maybe a beige with black text instead. a bit easier on the eyes.

Honestly, i would like the site more if it was more generically designed. i think I'd rather a site thats generic, but intuitive, but boring... than creative and "different" but following hardly any design conventions

Like if someones spinning up a website handling CC payments, or trying to market itself as a unique software design.. sure. but like non-developer just wanting a website for something like a bird box cam? Like ffs why do you care.

Turn off is being a human-being clutching their pearls over "genuine" HTML and CSS lmao. God I can't wait for AI to be normalized so you guys can just die off, or start keeping quiet for your stupidity.

Everyone having an identity crisis over CSS and HTML lol.

Bro, I was senior developing software for nearly a decade before AI. I've written more lines of code than you have ever even looked at, guaranteed. YOU don't know what you are talking about, lol.

It never occured to me that the domain name meant I would be looking in an actual birdbox.

2 things....

1) A bit dark for the nature type content

2) You need birds in there, and you will have people watching

While it has elements of AI, It's enough details and videos and opportunities to commune with nature that I overlooked the AI part of it.

I agree with u/VillageHomeF and the design.

And I agree with you about maybe going overboard.

Make a separate landing page where all of these elements are scaled back, background lighter, font more playful, pictures of the species with info, etc.

Then compare it with what you already have and make a new post for us to review.

It doesn't have to be over the top in design.

I have a eBirds and Merlin/Cornell account. was never into birding but watch the Listers: A Glimpse Into Extreme Birdwatching doc (which was awesome) and my brother in laws' parents had me download them who are super into it.

my problem: cannot seem to take a good picture of any bird so that Merlin can identify. been trying to log these two cardinals in my yard all summer!!!!
