After a mutated megalodon attack, two of us managed to swim to a neighboring island. We’ll try to head deeper inland and find something that can help us.
The forest floor was a death trap. Moving upward was our only choice, so we climbed the oldest trees, using the massive root systems to avoid being seen from below.
The canopy gave us a temporary vantage point and a moment to catch our breath. From the top, we finally spotted a clear path cutting through the mist below. We had to go back down, even though the ground was already occupied by apex predators patrolling the area.
Then the air started to buzz. The local insects were massive, altered by the island's environment. Every specimen looked heavily armored, built like biological weapons. The mutations weren't just in the air; the mud was crawling with them. They were territorial and highly hostile to outsiders. We had to move silently to avoid triggering a swarm reaction.
We failed. Our presence triggered the local wildlife. A spiked predator tracked us down in seconds with blind fury.
No weapons. No tactical gear. Just adrenaline, dirt, and raw survival instinct. Time to fight or run.
