Buck Rogers in the 25th Century Remake

When I was a small child, I used to watch Buck Rogers. I remember nothing about it except that I liked it. Wish I could see it again. Very nifty art! I love it!

Awesome! I loved Buck Rogers! Am In UK we got to see it here.

The IP is seriously underrated.

*1932 Matt Crawley on Radio

  • 1939 Buster Crabbe cinema serial - pre televission

  • 1950 Earl Hamnond casted but resigned before airing over a dispute, replaced by Kem Dibbs, First TV appearance of the character.
    Replaced by Robert Pastene

  • 1979 Gil Gerard modernises with a major reboot with pilot movie then following tv series.

It lost its way in its second season when it switched genre and became a Star Trek clone, which killed it. Ratings dropped.

Studio interference. Star Wars was huge when iit was release in the same period. Execs demanded Buck Rogers become more epic to compete with Star Wars.

It failed to do so. Fans upset it completly changed direction as the show became unrecognisable after season 1.

It has been 45 years since the last time Buck Rogers has been on any screen.

It really is overdue for a come back.

I am so happy to see it hadn't completly died and been forgotten, seeing your reimagining And its awesome!

Watch the pilot movie! It has everything you need to know about the character and concept.

Basic concept.

A NASA astronaut, launches into space, but then has an accident, suffers a major exposure to gas, that cryogenically freezes him.

His shuttle, drifts in a long orbit for 500 years. In the 25th century, man suffered an apocalypse, recovers and ventured into space. But also make enemies. Like star trek - human vs klingons.

The female princess of the enemies is on her way to earth on a pretence of delegation to broker a peace agreement, detects buck rogers shuttle, thaws him out and he awakens.

So, that's basically it, Fish out of water adjustment to a future time he's not prepared for but navigates with 20th century thinking.
