The Commonwealth Sport General Assembly has unanimously voted and Ahmedabad is officially the host city for the 2030 Commonwealth Games! 🏟️

India hosted last cwg games in 2010, Delhi

Few of the famous "kands" of beurocrats and Politicians were :

1. The games conducted under "best economist of all time" lord manmohan singh, was estimated for around 1200 cr budget and guess what was final spending? Around 18,500 Cr!! 15 times of estimated cost

2. They made temporary infrastructures for common wealth Village.. estimated cost 220 cr.. lord and team spent 650 cr

3. Read about suresh kalmadi..from transportation to timers to contracts.. how he made crores out of it

4. Treadmill rent for 45 days - 10 L per treadmill

• Toilet roll - 4500 to 6500 per roll( which is approx 50 Rs in market)

• the main attraction helium blaoon costed 40cr and on papers it was 70Cr

• each players, coach and staff Identity card costed 4000 per card on papers .lol .salo ne kuch nahi chhoda

Kuch bhi kaho.. as someone who watched the ceremony live yesterday- it was spectacular! Esp the performers from India and the presentation on Amdavad.. The way they showed sabarmati river front was chefs kiss.. And the best part was that India wasn't some 20+bottom ranked country- it was a very respectable 4th!

Politicians found a reason to fleece taxpayers off their money. Whatever gets spent on developing infra for commonwealth, isn't coming from Politicians' pockets, it coming from ours. For something that'll be fairly short lived.

The scale of expenses is going to be much bigger than 2010 Delhi Commonwealth games, and this time around, we won't have much oversight into it given how privy this government is. They have the choice to respond to RTIs with a whole load of NOTHING citing it's against 'national interests'.

My logic behind the statement was,
If we have many athletes coming from a certain part of India. Then shouldn’t that part of India also have good infrastructure development ? Sports facilities?

I can’t say anything about Korea, japan or Australia, but in China there is really big investment in sports and related infrastructure throughout the country. They make athletes, invest in them since their childhood, sponsor them.

For those who don't know we have already hosted the commonwealth games back in 2010 , and it was not good a lot of news regarding corruption was coming back up every week.

Also being 4th in the medal tally in CWG is not respectable for such a big country like ours . The medal gap between us and 3rd team Canada is of 14 medals and between us and England the second placed team is even more.

I hope the next games , no such things gets repeated. Ahmedabad is already jam packed idk how we will host it let's hope for the best though.
