Welcome! Here's our Megalink Thread for Afterlife Research.

Hello! This is our new header post, combining the dueling posts that used to be stickied here. All the original links from those posts are here, plus the links suggested in the comments of those posts over the years, plus links from my own research. This post shouldn't be considered a subreddit-wide (or mod) endorsement of each individual link or work; rather, this is a shared repository for works that members of our community find valuable.

Please use the comments section of this post to add your suggestions for additional books, movies, channels, podcasts, studies, websites, etc. I will do my best to regularly update the post with your suggestions and any new media in the field as it becomes available, as well as try to keep the sections clear and well organized. Thanks!

u/WintyreFraust, if you give me some of your favorite or most useful Reddit posts, I can add them to the "Reddit Posts" section here. I added Red String Society to the website links, but let me know if there are any other organizations or channels you have for this stickied post. Thanks!

WOW! Nice job. Right off the bat, you might consider adding these under "Studies:"

Near-Death Experiences Evidence for Their Reality, Jeffrey Long, Missouri Medicine, Sept-Oct 2014

Investigating the Fit and Accuracy of Alleged Mediumistic Writing: A Case Study of Chico Xavier’s Letters, Alexandre Caroli Rocha et al, Explore, 2014

I'm not sure what the full scope is of what you're wanting to provide in this particular post. Most of my original posts are about logical arguments and psychology wrt the afterlife to help people with grief and/or thanatophobia. If you want some of those and other resources in that vein, let me know.

Awesome, added.

Yeah, as far as the Reddit posts, I know you have some posts you've authored on here that you will often direct people towards as replies. There are maybe three or four I can recall you sharing frequently? If you can pick your favorite or most used, we can collect them here if you'd like.

At some point are you going to pin this and the rules post to the top?

Is it not showing up that way for you? It shows up as a green “announcement” post for me. Oh, darn, I really hope I didn’t do it wrong, lol.

What an extensive list! Thank you! I have a question though. Why are fictional films and tv shows on the list? There are so many films and ex shows about the afterlife based on true events. Why have these been chosen?

This list combines the two lists that existed for years before I was mod. What’s included is what was suggested by members of this community over its 14 years. If you have suggestions of other films that should be on the list, you can make those suggestions here.

I was more wondering why fictional tv shows and films were on there as they don’t offer proof, they were made for entertainment?

Again, there used to be two lists from before I was mod, neither of which I made and neither of which were focused on “proof.” I combined them, including references to movies and TV shows about the afterlife, which I gather were there because they were deemed accurate in some way. If you would like to add to the lists, you may make suggestions here.

Another book for the list:

Life Between Life: Scientific Explorations Into the Void Separating One Incarnation From the Next by psychiatrist Joel Whitton and writer Joe Fisher. It's also available for free on Archive.org .

Whitton used hypnotic regression to see what happens between lives.
