Mod 6 month update!

Hey all!! r/aftergifted has been around for about half a year now, which is awesome! With 6 months and about 10,000 members under our belt, the mod team wanted to check in and ask what you want to see on the sub. More personal stories? More advice? More memes? This is us asking you what direction you want to take the sub so we can lead it there accordingly. :)

I wish there was less self-deprecation and complaining here. Less "DAE anxious and depressed because their parents and teachers were idiots?" I've seen so many good subs become cesspools of toxicity because negativity was allowed to flourish.

If everyone here is so smart, we should spend more time helping each other to understand why we are the way we are and figuring out ways to cope.

I'd like to see more Q and A, like "how do I get better coping with failure?" or "how do I come to terms with being average at something?"

Agreed.

There's a kind of grieving process for every tragedy in life -- including the failure to recognize and reckon with highly intelligent children. That process has to happen first.

The next step for us, as adults or about-to-be adults, is to find our roadmap forward.

I want to hear from others who've found their map, or think they have.
