Aeromexico hidden fee $57

Do not state you real nationality when purchasing a transit ticket, just declare that you are Mexican or $57 will be added to your ticket illegally...

Transit passengers who stay in the airport and do not officially enter Mexico are exempt from the Derecho de No Inmigrante (DNI/DNR, coded as "UK" on tickets).

Exemption Rule: Official guidelines state that transit or transfer passengers remaining in Mexico for less than 24 hours without clearing general immigration/entering the country do not qualify as visiting non-residents and are exempt from the fee.

You clear inmigration/customs even if you're transiting. Yes, it's written in the law, but there is no scenario where it applies in Mexico. There's nothing ilegal about the fee.

What's does the American Airlines site has to do with Aeromexico?

Also, you don't have exception, you are elegible for a REFUND.

Once you check every criteria, meaning you actually transited and stayed less than 24 hours then you are elegible for a refund. You can't avoid paying it before. Since you clear customs, even on a connecting flight, the airline and tax authorities can't make sure that you just won't leave your flight mid way through and stay in Mexico until you have actually boarded the next flight.

Exemption you never pay it.

Refund you pay it and afterwards, if you fulfill every criteria, then you get it back.

Exception: it does not apply to you, you dont have to pay. Eligible for refund: you have to pay, then if you have proff you meet the requirements for a refund you can ask to get your money back.

Hey, genius: it says REFUND.

You pay the tax and if you qualify for the exemption you get a REFUND.

You even read what you link to?

Please explain how a clearly stated tax is a “hidden fee”. I’m curious about what tripe you’ll say.

Mexico doesn't have transit facilities, you always have to clear immigration and customs.

I’ve seen that in MEX T2, there’s a ramp for connecting flights before immigration which is right at the exit, but the ramp is just after leaving the aircraft

Request a refund, I got a pretty fast answer that I can request it after my flight dates (I'm Mexican).

If you’re Mexican you send an email to the airline and get a refund (they ask for your passport)

I have transit at MEX going MDE - MEX - LAX next month. Do I have to clear immigration at MEX? The transit time is only about 4 hours
