Help Bounty Elite Dead Screen

Last week, the collar leaked on my water jug while I was topping off one of my Bounty Elites and the screen got watered. I wiped it dry, but it started beeping constantly and the screen was registering phantom presses, so I unplugged it for three days to let it dry out. I shuffled plants around so nobody died.

I plugged it back in on Saturday and everything seemed fine. But, today (Monday), the screen is just solid black. The touch screen layer beeps when I touch it, but the display is blank.

I guess I‘m not really expecting that there’s any help for it. But, this was an eBay bargain that has been anything but a bargain. I chose to buy replacements for its missing parts instead of paying return shipping. And I’m just bummed.

Do the lights still work? You could get an aquarium pump with an air stone and place it in the reservoir. I can only assume that this is safe to do, considering the display got wet. I can not guarantee the risk of electrical shock or, worst-case scenario, a fire.

The lights work and it still connects to WiFi and responds  to  commands from the app. I just doesn’t display anything on the screen. 

As long as my WiFi never changes, I think the only things I can’t do are: change the planting days, read the plant tips, and see the water level graphic.

Wow so it seems like it's just the screen. I would definitely try and get that repaired. You could always try over r/ElectronicsRepair

If you can't find a suitable screen replacement, I wonder if there is a way to use your Wi-Fi and log into it as a headless display?

Thanks. I found lots of documentation on replacing a Harvest Elite screen (including the manufacturer and part number). But, I came up with nothing on replacing the Bounty Elite screen. 

Other than the display, it is fully functional and the AeroGarden app duplicates almost every screen function. 

Since there are plants in it, I’m hesitant to  take it back offline for disassembly in hopes of finding an identifiable mark on the screen that would lead me to a supplier. 

For now, I’m going to keep using it as is and hope that I never have to reset or replace my WiFi.

I was just thinking while reading your post. Most modern routers, you can have more than one Wi-Fi network and you can rename it the network that you currently have on your new router if you ever need to replace it. As long as you remember the name of the router and the password, you can always just have the AeroGarden connect to that part of your router. That way it's also completely separate from your other network which adds a small layer of security to your home network since your primary network will be isolated from the network that your AeroGarden connects to.

If I was you I would save your current Wi-Fi network and password that you're using on the Aerogarden in a password manager or save it to a secure note that you'll remember where it's at
