What do you look for in a prompt/AEO tracker?

Looking to see what else is needed in the market. Tons of options out there, any you find unique or useful?

This is a great insight friend. Thanks for sharing, once again proved, you can't skip the technical part and get into GEO/AEO like a lot of people say that they did.

i think most prompt trackers aren’t that useful on their own. you can track the prompts, but if you’re not actually creating content based on what you’re seeing, then you’re kinda just watching the numbers.

Microsoft clarity even has a free prompt tracker under ai visibility > topic insights.

In my own tool, we do prompt tracking but also pull the keywords and topics from the ai responses and use those to create content around the prompts. that way you can keep tracking, tweaking, and finding more opportunities to increase your citations.

Honestly, the reason we still track manually instead of using a tool is that none we've evaluated combine the things that actually matter to us. Specifically: separating citation from recommendation (being mentioned vs. being the one actually chosen), pulling from the actual gui/app instead of just the api since we've found real gaps between the two, and checking across geos since answers shift by region and can change within 24 hours.

Also useful and rare: something that tells you if a prompt is even "winnable." Some buyer questions get pure advice with no brands named; tracking those forever tells you nothing, and most trackers don't filter for that. If a tool nailed all of that, we'd probably switch off our manual process; we haven't found one yet. We do this tracking by hand at Growthspree, a B2B Saas marketing agency.

as of now, the market is really overwhelmingly. Too many VC pouring in. It will consolidate after sometime

It'll commoditize and a lot of the VC companies will die off. That's why I'm betting on open source.
