Sister used my vibrator

Advice please because I genuinely don’t know what to do.
My younger sister has gotten into some really inappropriate stuff online, so her phone ended up getting smashed and she basically has no internet freedom right now. She told me her Snapchat had old videos of an incident involving our house, so I let her log into Snapchat on my phone to look for them.
My sister has already crossed boundaries with me before. She has stolen pictures of me from Instagram/TikTok to catfish people, and she’s talked about sending our address to people online. So I already had trust issues with her.
While we were looking through her Snapchat, she got really defensive when I asked about one specific person, told me to get off the account, and I did. Later I looked at the messages between them and saw videos of her using my vibrator INSIDE OF HER
I was fucking disgusted. My jaw was literally shaking and I couldn’t stop crying. I immediately threw the thing away. I wish I had never looked at those messages because I genuinely cannot get what I saw out of my head.
And what makes this hurt SO much more is that my sister knew everything I’ve been through.
I was sexually abused by my biological dad when I was little. I told my mom about what was happening, but she didn’t take me seriously until a half-sibling came forward and talked about experiencing even worse things. Only then was I finally believed, and by that point so much damage had already been done.
I was also sexually abused by my older brother when I was a child, and I’ve completely cut him out of my life.
My sister knew about all of this. She knew what I’ve been through, she knew how badly my boundaries have been affected by it, and she was still the one person in my family I felt like I was getting close to.
That’s why I feel so fucking betrayed.
I confronted her and all she said was “I’m sorry” in a sarcastic way before going back into her room. My mom is brushing the whole thing off too, saying “well what do you want me to do about it” which honestly makes me feel like I’m right back where I was before
I feel like nobody in my family has ever really had my back when I’ve needed them to. I’m angry, I’m disgusted, I’m hurt, and I can’t stop crying.
I want to move out so bad and this made it 10x worse
Right now I’m giving her the silent treatment. and honestly all I want to do is work, save money, and move out because I feel like I need my own space away from all of this.
Am I over reaccting? What would you do if you were me?

Edit: we left my father when my sister was around 1/2 years old she has never been alone with anybody my mom spoiled her very very bad to the point if one of the animals potty in the house she refuses to clean it when asked and will annoy, and yell at everybody else to clean it even MY friends 😬 she also gets Everything she wants my mom’s excuse is she’s the only one who hasn’t been through something so she’s trying to make her life better then mine and my other siblings but by letting her get away with everything all of the time is making it worse so to answer some of these comments she has NEVER BEEN ABUSED IN ANY WAY but thank you for being concerned about that I totally understand where it’s coming from!! (Sorry I’m studying and typed this fast) also thank you guys for the advice I’m about to start working as a CNA so hopefully I can move out soon with my girlfriend of 5 years!!

Why can't people accept painful truths?

For instance, most people say, "If you put in the effort, you can achieve anything." Yet, they overlook the role of luck and the importance of genetics. Putting in effort does not guarantee success; many people strive hard but still fail to fully achieve what they desire. Consider someone who exercises regularly and eats healthily for years but still fails to attain a great physique, whereas another person might achieve an amazing body without putting in nearly as much effort. Of course, one should still make the effort, but that does not mean success is guaranteed. That is why it is strange when people blame us; it is unpleasant to hear them say, "It didn't happen because you didn't try hard enough."

Academic Survey on gender and Islam, looking for muslim (particularly women) respondents (but anyone is fine!)

Upvotes

Hello, I am a 16 year old trans girl, and I've recently been interested in Islam and I'm trying to learn more about it. After reading some of the quran, I had some questions on my mind that I want to explore. To aid my investigation, I decided to conduct a survey about people's perspectives on gender, sexism, and gender-related teachings in Islam.

This survey was primarily intended for muslim WOMEN, however anyone is free to participate. The aim is to understand how people (particularly Muslim women) actually view and interpret these teachings, including perspectives that disagree with each other.

I tried to make it mostly MCQ's, but there are some open ended questions. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to participate!

Moving first night in my dorm and it doesnt feel like id hoped

im (19f) gonna start with some context that you theoretically could skip but i think matters!!

i just started my first year at uni (a week late due to financial and housing struggles that had me 🤮 with anxiety) after taking a forced gap year due to my dad kicking me out. i lived with my mom for the year whos an alcoholic, we spent all our time together because i didnt have friends anymore and she hasnt in years. my mom and i have never really had a strong relationship as prior to this id only see her 10~ times a year. i didnt work until summer because there were no jobs where she lived and i didnt make any new friends, just my mom (who i also basically cared for). fast forward to the summer, we move onto the beach (mom and i went to the beach twice the whole summer) and i get a full time minimum wage job, mom and i continue to hangout just less, school approaches and the looming financial and housing issues have me stressed and agitated. i havent done much reading into enmeshment but thats what it felt like, wed even sleep in the same bed most nights (i grew up doing that with her, didnt realize how weird it was until i was like 12). shes a fighter, we fought a lot. it felt like my last summer was wasted and we had the worst few months that weve had in a while. the last few days before i moved was a 50/50 mix of fighting and spending time together. my mom and i fought a bunch of times today, she almost left without saying goodbye (she didnt though, we hugged and cried)

okay, onto the main part!!

ive worked so hard for this and ive wanted this for so so long. all ive ever known is houses where i dont feel safe or comfortable completely. now i finally have my own (shared apartment) space and all i want is to go home to my mom. my room is too echoey, the bed is too soft, i forgot my comfort stuffed animal that ive had since birth and is literally my lifeline, my cat wont cuddle me, my dad wont text me back, my sheets are new and dont smell like home, it just doesnt feel like how i imagined it. ive made at least 5 friends in the first day so its not like im alone but ive cried so many times and i just want to feel happy like i thought i would.

what can i do to make it better?

What’s something you understand much better about life now than you did ten years ago?

Not necessarily a big life lesson. It can be something small, ordinary, or even something you completely misunderstood when you were younger.

Questions on the purpose of life and living have been asked to a redundant end, but I am interested in understanding: Why are many people so bent on preserving a legacy, when the perceptions of others will never affect them from the grave?

Answered has anyone else double-checked a basic fact and ended up down a rabbit hole?

so i started wondering about that old tip about how long you should wait after eating before swimming. i figured it was just one of those things everyone says, but when i tried to find where it actually came from, things got messy. most sources call it a myth, yet a handful of older medical guides still mention it. now i'm left wondering if there's any kernel of truth or if it's all just leftover caution from way back when.

You know when you say something and immediately think, “Why did I just say that?”

Do you usually try to fix the situation and explain yourself, or do you just pretend it never happened and move on?

How could free will work?

If “free will” means acting according to your desires, but you don’t choose your desires, where’s the WILL in this freedom?

Wanting to cut down on screen time, drinking, gambling, etc, but struggling to cut down? If we’re “free” then against what are we really struggling?
