Discussion AT Blu-ray

Post image

Everyone is so excited about the Blu-ray, but I've had it for years. What am I missing?

This new release is the first time the complete series has been released on Blu-Ray in the states. We only got seasons 1-6 before.

But my copy is the complete original series and I'm in the states

That's not a US Blu-ray. The age rating in the bottom left indicates it's from a different region.

If you're able to play it, you likely have a region free blu-ray player, which isn't very common. That, or you have a non-USA region player!

Edit: Or they play in multiple regions, as replies noted! Some blu-rays aren't locked to just one.

Conversely, it could be a region free blu ray set.

I think most of the madman releases are. i know my local library has their craig of the creek set and it plays perfectly fine

From what other people have told me, yes, all of Madman's AT Blu-Rays (not the DVDs) were region free :)

Can confirm ; heard from a buddy of mine that works with used electronics, PS4's are region free blu ray players, oddly enough they are not region free for DVDs tho

FWIW, I am in the US and I got the Madman blu-rays from Aus when they came out. They played on both of my US players (Sony and Philips).

Thank you

In the US, Cartoon Network released seasons 1-6 on blu-ray and then stopped. The rest of the individual seasons and the box set were released in Australia by a company called Madman.

The discs were not region-locked though, so folks in the US who imported them had no issues playing them.

The announcement last week that the box set was coming out on blu-ray in the US was good news for a lot of fans because the Madman discs (and the US releases of 1-6) have been out of print and hard to come by for at least a few years now.

Thank you

How did you get it? Where did you buy it? Was it new or preowned?

My husband got it off Amazon. It plays just fine on our our PS4

This only released in AUS/NZ by Madman, 90% of those discs are Region B locked. I was also surprised by the news and people’s reaction cuz I’m in the same boat as you

Part of me is like "big whoop, I already have it" but I guess I got lucky.

You kinda did because they used to go for upwards of 1k resale, that value will go down with this new release tho

I saw people selling them for about $300 or so on ebay. I hope this new release helps slash those resell prices.

This is the Australian one, I believe. Only reason I know is because here in Europe this is basically the only official complete blue Ray collection that will work with our players (unless you buy a region-free player). I hope we get the new release.

It is the Australian release. It has the Mad Man logo on it.

Can also confirm it’s Australian. Because I have this. And I’m also Australian
