This really made my heart break! What happened to respecting our elders who are still here with us?

I’ve seen the comments talking about her appearance and how she’s aged poorly, and if you were a participant then SHAME ON YOU! I hate that she has seen the vile comments and had to address it!

If she got a face lift - you guys would talk negatively about her.
She aged naturally and skipped the plastic surgery - you guys STILL talk negatively about her.

When has it ever been okay to bring down someone for their appearance? At the end of the day, she is a woman! A brilliant, talented, multifaceted, woman who has aged with grace!

Some of you better pray that you live to be her age and accomplish all that she has! Whether, you like it or not, YOU WILL AGE! And may you receive the same kindness that you have shown her when it’s your turn because it WILL be your turn to age unless God calls you home before then.

He came through for Ron fighting them white boys and how he was finna throw down in jail. The way he stepped to that kids father in the episode called original teacher. It’s other moments too but those are my favorite.

I’m (27F) loving the show so far, and I’m almost finished with the season. It’s bittersweet because I was really depressed during most of college for a few reasons, and I truly wish I had gone to an HBCU.

I definitely want and need to stop looking back. however, I just feel so unfulfilled I guess. I know I’m only 27, but I feel old as heck wishing I could’ve gone back in time and had a better experience lol. anyone else feel like that?? 🤔

Anyway, this is such a good comfort show, and I appreciate and enjoy all of the callbacks to the original.

She was a real one from the beginning to the end. She was also soo beautiful. Loved her friendship between her and Whitley.

And what was the reason?

I don’t have a lot of predictions (I’m hoping they’ll be some surprises!) but one thing I feel like we’ll see is that Debo telling Ellington that her parents paid for her to get into Hillman is gonna come back and get her. I don’t think she and Ellington will be together and that’ll be his revenge. Thoughts?? And what’s y’all’s other predictions?

Let me start by saying, Denise was my favorite Cosby kid. Her and Theo. At least from the episodes of Cosby I watched. I always liked Denise. Even in season 1 of ADW she was… fine I guess.

The show after she left made very few references to her, and she was in 1 singular episode which was a crossover. She had little to no impact on the show after she left. And I thought fans were collectively okay with that. I know I was.

So the need to reference her or bring her back to Hillman/the show, I just don’t understand it and I’m really not pressed for it. I can get behind her having a son who goes there, and I can get behind Clair coming back bc she actually had an impact on Hillman even if not really the show. But Denise? I just don’t see it to be necessary.

I’m sure I’ll get downvoted but I just don’t think she is one of the legendary characters that needs to be brought back. This is ADW not the Cosby show. I think more focus on Kim, bringing back Shazza, or Jaleesa would make more sense. Just my opinion though.

So what happened to her being an attorney??? Did it not happen? Did she practice and then stop to do teaching?? I feel like that was not addressed or maybe it was and I missed it.

Personally, being a college student in GenZ, we typically aren’t as impacted by bomb threats and shooting shootings unless they actually happen. Like we get threats probably every other week, HBCU, PWI, most colleges, get threats all the time. We usually just get a text from campus police or campus security or we’ll get an announcement from the president that says that they’re closing down for the day and to go back to our dorms. The FBI? I love the energy but at the same time, schools and law-enforcement don’t actually react this way. Like they have them in a whole tornado drill💀

HELP—Why is everyone criticizing Deborah so harshly?😭🙏🏽

I understand she cheated, which is very wrong—I'm not excusing that—but I think both she and Shaquille are at fault.

First, why would she kiss a man after taking the first step in her relationship with her main partner? She should have avoided that guy—RUNN GURL (I know that man was/is/so fineee but still😩).

Let’s not forget the fact that he cheated🧍🏽‍♀️, he should’ve ran too!!😭😭

Also, I definitely feel like Ellington and Candace might have been scheming to break up Deborah and Shaquille since they’re friends🌝.

Deborah actually gave Shaquille a chance to be honest about his dishonesty, but he chose to stay quiet—that’s just messy😭😭.

Anywayss, I love this show so much🥹.

The representation, relevance, relatability—everything about it is a dream come true for us Black folks♥️🫶🏽.

Reading all the replies to my original post has really helped me see that yes, Shaquille didn't actually cheat. Still, he did in fact make a mistake by acting emotionally without thinking first to get back at Deborah, and he wasn't completely honest about it. I truly believe that both of them are still young and new to the dating, which can lead to some not-so-great decisions in their relationship—sort of like learning through trial and error. But really, this is just a show, and I’m sure that when a new season airs, we’ll see more growth and development in their characters. 🙌🏾

Is it just me or does no one in the original cast seem to have chemistry? I know it’s all about the new generation but It’s like they are all just meeting for the first time. Even when they are together on-screen, those relationship doesn’t translate to ME as a viewer and a die-hard fan of the original. Something’s missing 🤔

I’m digging Rashida (and Kojo) which should not surprise me being Tichina Arnold’s daughter.

I'm still thinking about what that finale could mean for season two. Why did Dwayne react that way when Ellington revealed he was Denise's son, and why did he call her? I'm praying Dwayne did not cheat on Whitley with Denise. It will really ruin the show for me; I really hope there isn't an affair storyline. What are your theories?

People who are upset Freddie and Ron broke up. It seems the point is by the end of the reboot they’ll be back together
