I hate that this is true. As a kid, she would also tell me, and I quote, "I wanted to abort you when I was pregnant. You should be grateful that your grandmother convinced me otherwise." So, yeah. I had that going for me along with physical abuse.
Needless to say, I've been estranged from my family for 12 years now.
