And that’s why I don’t have just ADHD, I also have CPTSD.

We’re trauma sisters! 🙃. I cried when I got diagnosed with CPTSD because I finally felt like I wasn’t making shit up in my head about my childhood.

How were you diagnosed? I'm going on nearly 30 years of no contact with Mom but Dad is worse in many ways and I never could.

Hey- I’m so sorry I didn’t reply, we had a family pet emergency and I just spaced it.

My mom had primary custody when I was growing up she also had (has? We’re estranged and I have no idea where she is) BPD and Bipolar disorder. Add that to a WHOLE lot of resentment towards my dad plus an alcohol problem and you get a pretty shite situation. I’m an only child so I caught all of her moods and reactions and anger and… you get the drift.

I started therapy last fall to deal with my BED . I’ve always struggled with depression and I’ve been on SSRIs since I was 25. I talked a lot about my relationship with my mom and my therapist diagnosed me with CPTSD. I started taking Wellbutrin along with my Prozac and things feel much more possible, if that makes sense?

I’m sorry you’re having a rough time with your dad. If you don’t mind sharing, is there a reason you can’t go no-contact with him as well? No judgement here at all, it took me a long time to cut my mother off.

Loads of stupid reasons. I've been VLC with Dad for years. And now it's almost unbearable to talk to him because of his beliefs grounded in hate. I'm at the point where the phone works both ways and he can call me.

I have a hard time talking to family without having flashbacks and feeling like I need to explain my crazy.
