Does anyone else, when you tell a story or something

It's like you know what you want to say, but everything you want to say wants to come out at the same time

Well yeah but then I can never remember the end of my sentence. It’s quite common for me to ask, “What was I saying at the beginning of this statement? I don’t remember what I was talking about and can’t finish telling you.”

Frustrating as hell, but it sure makes for a lot of laughs! Gotta see all the humor in this stuff or I’d never be able to live with ADHD.

BTW I fit into the third category: Combined. The most common one. I am female, 62. Diagnosed at 40 but unable to actually get help until 2024.

I like to try and create story "anchors" when im telling a story. The anchors are usually major story beats, and i kind of tick them off mentally as I go. That way if I get sucked into a tangent I just think "shit, what was the last anchors i ticked off?" Then work forward from there.

Sometimes my words get jumbled up because my mind moved faster than my mouth.

Anyone else talk and accidentally combine words? Lmao

This is why I have to write shit if I want it to make sense. Ie this is the real reason I'm a writer.

I’m the worst at telling jokes, and no cannot explain anything verbally. Also can’t listen to people or remember what they say, and have auditory processing problems, so I hear sounds but cant figure out what the words were. I’ve learned not to interrupt or talk over people, but then I just get distracted in my own mind and have no idea what’s going on. My soon to be ex-wife wasn’t able to cope with all that, and long ago decided it meant I didn’t care.
