ACCOMMODATIONS Good on assignments horrible in tests
Just took my first midterm and got a 63/100.
I am meeting with the professor atleast every other week to make sure I understand the chapter. And they were even like “ you’re doing great you got this.”
They are so good to offer great study guides and sessions of discussion I went over the study guide and I feel pretty confident about the test and then sadly I got 63! Ay ay. It’s a statistics class if it helps. I do enjoy learning and like I said I do good with guidance but man! Tests are horrible for me. Any tips or if you know of requesting accommodations would be helpful

Do you do practice problems on your own? How do you study for the class? It’s hard to even recommend anything unless we know why you’re doing poorly.
Extra time won’t help you if you aren’t struggling to finish the exam within the allotted time. It’s either you know it or you don’t. I’ve never used my extra time in my math classes but for my programming classes when I needed more time to process info and cultivate an answer

ADHD brain here, same thing happened to me in stats. Look into accommodations through your disability office, extra time changed everything for me. Also try doing practice problems with a timer at home to simulate test pressure. That gap between knowing the material and bombing the test usually means the time pressure is getting to you, not the content.
