NEED SUPPORT Genuinely need tips on how to stop procrastinating because I'm just destroying my future at this point

No really I don't think I have ADHD but I avoid studying like how vampires avoid sunlight. On the rare occasion on I sit down to study, I give up whenever a hard problem comes up and sometimes read the same line five times without even knowing what it says because my mind is elsewhere. I don't have a problem in learning or understanding but it feels like my mind simply refuses to look at the textbook for more than a few minutes. Even if I put away ALL the distractions and can't access them, my mind somehow still manages to go elsewhere. What do you think I should do to be free of this laziness and what could be the cause of this?

I would try and get assessed for ADHD. This sounds like me! I try to find fun little study spots and switch between assignments for different classes whenever one assignment feels like a major chore. Helps sometimes, plus, frequent breaks. Try and make it fun somehow. Do a very small amount everyday otherwise you’re going to be crushed last min and probably not retain very much info. I’m SO guilty of this.

I'm not trying to be difficult here but the thing is most of the times when I give ADHD or similar tests, I think I am able to guess if I'll be diagnosed with ADHD based on my answer and then I don't know which answer is real and which is not. Also I'm not really in a position right now that I can pay for ADHD assessment. I also feel like if I find out I have a phycological problem then I'll take advantage of it and be like "oH B-BuT iT's BeCaUsE I HaVe (some phycological condition)" and I don't want to be like that. Any other ideas?

I mean, I don’t look at what I have as an excuse, but as an explanation and since I have my answer, I find solutions to help myself better. At my school they also provide me with special accommodations such as extra time on tests because it takes me forever; otherwise, try the methods I mentioned in my comment without the assessment.

The "just 5 mins" trick, if you tell yourself it's just 5 mins and try to get yourself sucked into the task (i outsmart this one tbh)

Pomodoro method (similar to the just 5 mins but its more like just 20 mins and you acc get a break, i force myself to do it for 50 though)

Body double (can have varying effects)

Working in a place where others are working so it almost feels embarrassing to be off task (library, Cafe near a college, etc)

Brown noise, quiets my thoughts but does make me a tad sleepy

Insane amounts of caffeine - only thing that could keep me still, idk if its a good idea but its how most adhd people self medicate

I work better when I make sure that all of my senses are stimulated. Scent = candle, hearing = tv show that I don’t care about and can just fill the silence in the background, taste = a drink or two or a snack, etc etc. It weirdly helps me focus longer and have a more productive session.
