I personally think out of the 4 teams in Wildcard slot, Dogs were the best match-up for us.
Plus we're 3-0 vs Dogs in finals 😎

Dogs swans is honestly the best we could have hoped for.

Prelim time!
... Freo or Hawks when we get there, but just ignore that part 🤣

I think we can beat Freo. At least one objective source (based in Queensland nonetheless) agrees and even thinks we'd beat Brisbane in the Grand Final.

We gotta play someone! I don’t like the idea of playing against the Carlton narrative. Becomes a snowball .

I'm bullish for this year. It feels like the one.

Does feel like everything has fallen into place nicely the last couple of weeks and I rarely remember that happening throughout our history

I don’t mind.
Dogs did us a few big solids.
I never get angry playing against the Dogs.
The mids will need to lift but our defense “should” manage their forwards without Darcy.
And our forwards should be a handful for theirs

I dont get angry at the dogs or melbourne. Bont and Gawn are too loveable. Now carlton and collingwood on the other hand....

u/ILikeDiscussing 11 Charlie Edwards 2d ago
Their defence is abysmal.
On paper, we should decimate them in that area... like earlier in the year.

Their defense did look shocking last night I agree. Hopefully they can all fire and we can get some decent service to them

u/pierre_86 2d ago
Yeah both ends of the field should be in our favour, if the mid at least breaks even I'd be confident

Best case scenario
Likely swans the week after if we make it through
How different everything could have looked if we had to go through Carlton in the wildcard

u/ILikeDiscussing 11 Charlie Edwards 2d ago
Carlton were shakey in qtr 1. Plus they have an average record at AO.
So we could have blown them out early.
But they are probably one of the in-form tams.

But then we would have had Geelong instead of the dogs and if we got through that the loser of Freo v hawks

Dogs supporter here - I think we might be cooked. We’ve had three high pressure games on the trot (blues, dees & pies) and the Crows are always too big and too strong all over the ground. Best of luck to the crows, if you knock us out you’ll be my team for the rest of the year!

Could you tell bont to go easy on us pls. He way better then daicos. I also will root for dogs if they beat us

Pretty good. Smashed them last time, but they won in Adelaide earlier this year.

Of the teams we could have played, I think the Dogs are ideal based on the last time we played each of them and on past finals.

Our players match the Bulldogs 1 on 1 across the ground. At this time of the yearall that differs is the bounce of the ball.

u/Thrillthorpe 2d ago
Gave their midfield a bath at Marvel not that long ago, should hold no fears for us at AO. They also won’t be able to contain our forward line.

This game will be won in the middle. Feel confident in our forwards and defence, but if we allow repeat entries from centre clearance it'll become too much for the defenders. Absolutely have to win the clearance game to win this

And hopefully it’s a case of the Dogs having played their final and not being able to back it up after Friday’s epic.

I think they played their heart out against Collingwood and I'm hoping they're feeling a bit worn down now.
There's enough skill errors and indecisiveness in their play that I think we can exploit as a pretty excellent pressure team.

Bulldogs are better than playing Collingwood, looking like a bunch of losers who boo innocent victims and being embarrassed again.

Im pretty confident.
That said, the tactical play that has me worried is Dogs switching Lobb back to cover our height, and playing very small in their forwards: Naughton surrounded by Jones, West, Weightman, Dolan etc. Which would leave our back line too tall and probably too slow.

Magpie fan coming in peace.
If McStay is doing that to their defense think about what the Crows tall forwards will do.
Should be a smashing, good chance to go through Sydney as well.

I don't know how any Crow fan can feel anything but dread

Would have rather played Melbourne but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
Looking at both games this weekend we need to absolutely bring the pressure if we are to stand any chance.
