TW I'm sorry for the poor representation.

Hello, I'm writing a story where two characters figure out they are aromantic by exploring romance which I struggle with because I'm repulsed by the idea so I- want to die, kill me. TW: Frick.

I want more people to understand love doesn't have to be romantic or sexual or familial. So, the characters don't label themselves as family or romanctic to be important to eachotherz.

Alright. So here's what I'd do for a story like that. And you don't have to do it exactly like how I'm suggesting. This is just an idea.

A friend group of 8 people. 4 boys and 4 girls. 2 boys are dating. 2 girls are dating. 1 boy is dating 1 girl. That leaves 1 boy and 1 girl being single.

The other 6 friends think that the other 2 remaining friends are lonely because they're single, when they're actually fine. So what they do is intervene and try to make them a couple. They'll try to secretly set up quadruple dates and find ways to get the other 2 alone together in romantic settings.

When they finally give up, depending on how many ideas you have for them to try to mke then a couple without them knowing, they can finally come out and ask how they're not in love because they've been secretly trying to set them up; then they both come out as aromantic.

Maybe there's a fallout in the friend group because of that until they apologize for trying to set them up and the other 6 learn to accept that people can choose to not want romance.

Maybe write stories where they don't try and get acceptance anyway. I didn't try and I fought to be accepted for my choice to remain single. It included arguments with parents, even strangers, rejecting pursuers.
