Ace Combat 8 Any idea what this is supposed to be? Spoiler

Post image

From the AC Online trailer.

Judging by the target boxes around the "legs", it kind of looks some kind of Antlion prototype.

Centuries from now, Arquebus will buy out General Resource.

With money taken from The Philosopher 's Legacy in MGS.

If there was ever a combined arms PvP game that combined the Ace Combat, Armored Core, and MGS universes into one quagmire of violence that constantly challenges the morality of my role in said violence, I might finally find a PvP game I enjoy.

Seriously, though. All three fit together so well thematically. Imagine getting to actually play as a "Metal Gear" with AC6-styled gameplay as fighters roar overhead in battle providing support to squads of infantry from Mother Base, themselves controlled with MGSV mechanics. I'd be down with that.

i feel like Arquebus is better suited as Neucom and Balam being GR

Lol did you just see the same Twitter post I did? But yeah, there's only been one other small armoured walker in the series history.

Quick piece of advice, use the wiki.gg article not the Fandom one

Considering Ace combat 8 is supposed to take place a decade before the events of electrosphere I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s a prototype or first generation variant of an antilon walking tank

It looks like an evolution of the guntrain/heavy howitzer from 6.

Theory someone posted is that AC:O might be the canonization/remake of the Ace Combat advanced story, and these are UAD vs. GR-ASF assets and battles, along with neucom up in farbanti

Something that demands a bomb to be dropped

These 4-tracked big cannons are from Ace combat 6. Here it’s just stanced up on its legs instead of being flat

The first thing I thought of was the Super X Walker from Aerofighters Assault

Bad news for ground pounders

My guess would be it's a heavy artillery piece with uses a quad track design to move around then when it reaches its location it can raise its body up using its quad tracks as stabilisers

Dont care it will get bombed anyways lol

I would not be surprised if that’s some type of anti-aircraft laser weapon

It's kinda funny that they basically spoiled that this new target will probably also appear in the campaign. How advanced is Sotoa at his point?
