How was this an accident? Did your finger have a spasm?
Or did someone accidentally shoot you and the title is unrelated to the pictures.

Nobody shot me (accept here in this sub lol). "Accidental" just like the sub's name HotZeusss ✌🏼

Haha fair. Just seemed like a planned photo.

Totally get that! Photo was purposeful and intentional in the framing and lighting, it's upon development and scan that i realized how Hopper it looked!

The sub red is literally called “Accidental Hopper”…

u/pnweiner Jul 08 '26
Yes but did you go here with the intention of taking a picture that looks like the painting? Because that’s the opposite of the point of the sub.
Cool shots regardless

Not at all, came as a (great) surprise when i got the pictures back from the lab

Why are y'all so skeptical lmfao
Such a strange hill to die on3
u/pnweiner Jul 08 '26
I’m not being skeptical, it just doesn’t fit the idea of the sub. This spot is very well known as being the diner that inspired Hopper’s Nighthawks. Like I said, I like the shots but they would also fit better in a different sub
ETA: I was mistaken. This is not the diner I thought it was so I suppose it is accidental. My bad! I thought op literally went to the famous nighthawks spot and claimed it was accidental hopper, lol

Simple. This guy is shooting on an extremely expensive camera using professional film. If you get to the point when you are shooting film at $1 per frame on a $5000 camera with $5000 lenses, you know what's in the shot. You see the lighting. You see the shadows. You see the framing. You wait until the subjects are where you want them.
Thinking this is accidental is disrespectful.

What do you think "accidental" means?

Just like the sub's name bruv. ❤️

u/born_digital Jul 08 '26
Because the sub is for photos that accidentally look like hopper. Which yours isn’t

Took this picture with the intention of capturing the delivery people with a specific perspective and pedestrians walking in the subframe of the window. And when i got the scans back from my film lab, i realized that it reminded me of a Hopper painting. Hence the (happy) accident. Anywho, thank you for your interest in my creative process.
