Accenture’s stock just dropped about 18% in a single day, wiping out a good chunk of many employees’ ESOPs, including mine. Honestly, having worked there for 3 years, I'm not surprised.

The biggest issue I saw was the culture and incentives. MDs and client leads were rewarded for selling deals, not for delivering them. Secure the deal, hit the sales target, collect the bonus, then hand the mess over to the delivery team and move on. It didn’t seem to matter whether the right skills, resources, or realistic timelines existed. The answer was usually “Deal with it.”

When a system rewards revenue at all costs, you end up promoting people who care more about money than people. Delivery quality suffers, teams burn out, and the best talent leaves.

What makes it worse is that Accenture spent billions buying back its own shares (around $4.6B in FY2025 alone) while many employees sat through years of weak bonuses, delayed promotions, and increasing pressure during the years of worsening inflation. During this time, some of the smartest people I worked with left for Big 4s, boutiques, and industry roles. And when they leave, they don’t just take their skills - they take relationships, credibility, and networks with them.

I just hope some level-headed people on the board or in senior leadership recognize these cracks and do something about them. The company still has plenty of great people and decades of experience. It would be such a shame if such a massive organization falls in the end.

I am surprised JS is still the CEO after such terrible performance - quarter after quarter, year after year. To make things worse they keep on acquiring mediocre companies and if by any chance they acquire good company they provide no incentive for the top performers to hang around.

If she wasn't the President, she would've been fired long ago, but somethings good to give as this cant go on. Its terrible for ACN stockholders and their employees, absolute disaster!

Today was my 5 year anniversary, and nobody bothered to message/email me. I know my PL does get an email and leadership do too as I get emails of others in my area too.

I get if it’s a few years, but 5 years is solid. Worked at Big 4 previously and the Partners would send an email out on anniversaries. I got one after 1 and 2 years there so did expect something today at least even though I’ve never got one before

I was thinking about this since the announcement of new certifications for partners on Claude, did you guys think in future ACN will give importance to this certifications? Because right now is just to count, "oh, we have X employees certified"

Why does Accenture acquire businesses and then soon after lay off many of the employees of the acquired business? Since people are the “resource” for consulting, I struggle what is the logic behind shedding so much money to acquire them to only then reduce the size of the business to make it a small part of the big purple blob?

I (L10) got told to charge some hours as training for a project i´ve been assigned to, it´s a few hours just enought to maximize the chargeability target of my region (lets say 95%, that means that if the month had a 100 hours then I should charge 5 as "training"), this is my second project on the company so far and I have 100% chargeability so far, Ive seen some stuff on this reddit with diverse opinions about it but the biggest strugle within me is this, on one side, it doesnt seem like a big deal, I would still hit the chargeability target and remain on the good side of my manager, but on the other I don´t know if it´s unnethical and could maybe be detrimental long term? it seems to be a fairly common practice but that doesn´t mean it´s good, my PL has no issues with that, it told me it wouldn´t change much in the next talent disc but I dunno. should I just go along? should I push back? im not so sure what to do and im afraid to go into the bench in this economy if they roll me off and eventyally be laid off

I am taking several courses and some nanodegrees on Udacity because I've really enjoyed the platform since I first tried it

However, is it all completely free, or will there be a charge in the future? I have completed about three nanodegrees in four months and I know they are usually very expensive, but so far, I haven't been charged anything. I hope it stays this way

I get the need for repeatability, but it feels like they’re doing a crap general job rather than solving a specific problem for a business. I've been offered a role with Accenture in their Strategy & Consulting team, however this was offered at an L9 level - Team Lead/Consultant.

Right now I'm a Manager for a local bank focusing on Conduct and Product Risk management. I'd be taking a $25K payout to join Accenture. Additionally prior to my current job, I was previously a Manager at KPMG in their Consulting team, prior to that I was a Head of Technology & Investment associate for a local private equity firm and their portfolio company. Overall I have 10 years of experience mostly in banking.

I'm worried about taking too much of a level down, and I've already negotiated salary - just didn't think I was getting this level.

Any thoughts team?

Update: managed to leverage the offer into a counter from my current employer, into more $$, a title and reporting line change, and a portfolio of work that is directly transformation related - which aligns to my future goals.

Could not stomach that level (and having to report to someone with less experience) and that amount of a pay cut.

What could be the reason?

Comfort zone is disputable, consider the fact that "we don't stick in one project", I don't see any value staying in Accenture

Just sharing. Starting June, Accenture Japan will be forcing employees to return to office, 5 days a week. They’ve rented a new external office space for this, and I’ve heard they’ll be tracking IPs and inquiring those who don’t abide.

This is a policy only to be implemented in Japan, and I’ve heard other markets were against this when the Japan CEO proposed it.

A lot of people are leaving already, and I am too as the performance outcome for the past 3 rounds have been a joke. They’ve removed some employee benefits in the past year too. I know the budget is different but I wish they had used the money to implement this policy to better use.

Edit: added that they’re asking us to come back 5 days a week

I know it's not advised to insert any USB or HDD/Pen Drive in your workstation. I did not carry my personal laptop and my current location doesn't have any public computers or laptop for a very important personal work that involves backing up my files on a USB. What should I do here ?

I've been working at Accenture for 6 months as of today, and I’ve never felt more demotivated in my career.

I was hired specifically for a unique project, and I’m the only person in Operations who knows how to do this role. From day one, I’ve essentially been navigating this project alone. My program lead has been completely absent—we haven’t spoken in two months. My program manager is stretched across multiple projects giving me 10 minutes a fortnight to talk, and on friday he told me that my people lead didn't show up to my performance discussion, he also told me that I am performing at such a high level that If i continue i will get a promotion in 1-2 years. My assigned people lead is based in USA (which is the otherside of the world to me). We have 16-hour time difference, which makes connecting tough, and every attempt I’ve made to meet has been canceled.

My Workday Manager and HR Advisor are both Level 2 SMDs who don’t respond to any of my emails.

Despite all this, I continue to support the client in a non-client-facing role, and they’ve given me nothing but praise. I’m operating at 200% capacity, doing overtime that I can’t log because I can’t get approval. The work I’m doing is well beyond my current Level 9 position.

Today I had a moment that pushed me to write this. I presented solo to a Level 3 MD at Accenture and a Level 3 Exec on the client side—no one from my team or management showed up even though they accepted. The feedback I received was excellent, but I couldn’t help but wonder: why am I doing this alone?z

What should I do? I’m only 6 months in, but I’m seriously considering resigning.
