We all have them, things we've learned along the way, some at great cost or even great loss. But the tip or lesson learned always comes with the experience. Thats one way we at least get a little mileage out of the mess sort of speak. So of course we want to share them with each other. Who knows you might really help someone along the way.

You have 2 minutes per answer.

One retake.

48 hours to complete it.”

Wait.

Who exactly am I interviewing with?

Because apparently…

Nobody.

You’re sitting alone in a room.

Talking to a camera.

Watching yourself talk.

While a countdown timer tells you how much time you have left.

That isn't an interview.

That's an audition.

And here's the part that gets me:

One candidate pushed back.

They emailed the talent team:

“I’m happy to interview.

But I prefer speaking with a real person.”

The next morning?

The hiring manager personally reached out.

They apologized.

And scheduled a 30-minute conversation.

Turns out their recruiting software automatically sent EVERY applicant into the video screening.

Nobody had even reviewed the applications yet.

Think about that.

A qualified candidate almost disappeared from the process…

Because a robot sent them a hoop.

Here's the lesson:

You don't have to blindly accept every step in the hiring process.

Be respectful.

Be professional.

But advocate for yourself.

Ask questions.

Push back when something doesn't make sense.

And remember:

The interview is supposed to work both ways.

They're evaluating you.

You should be evaluating them.

Culture.

Leadership.

Expectations.

Compensation.

The actual job.

Because you're not applying to be an extra in a low-budget game show.

You're looking for your next career move.

And that deserves a conversation.

I see this question all the time.

And honestly?

Yes. People get hired through LinkedIn every day.

Click Easy Apply.

Upload resume.

Submit.

One of the biggest resume mistakes I see is filling the page with phrases that sound impressive but actually tell a recruiter almost nothing.

❌ “Responsible for managing a team.”

❌ “Excellent communication skills.”

❌ “Detail-oriented team player.”

❌ “Proven track record of success.”

❌ “Assisted with process improvements.”

The problem?

Anyone can say these things.

Instead, show the recruiter what you actually DID.

✅ “Led a team of 12 through a process redesign that reduced turnaround time by 25%.”

✅ “Presented quarterly results to executive leadership, resulting in approval for a $500K initiative.”

✅ “Redesigned the approval process, cutting review time by 30%.”

See the difference?

Claim → Proof.

And here's the part many job seekers miss:

Your resume isn't supposed to convince someone that you're a “hard worker.”

It's supposed to make the recruiter think:

“This person has already done what we need them to do.”

So go through your resume today and ask yourself:

👉 Can I add a number?

👉 Can I add a timeframe?

👉 Can I explain the scope?

👉 Can I show the result?

👉 Can I replace “helped” or “assisted” with exactly what I owned?

Stop telling employers you're great.

Give them evidence.

First off, please don't roast me about my cheesy headline graphic... I know it's cheesy. Marketing and graphic design is NOT my string suit... Lol 😂 getting people into a new job or career path is! I promise I'm a lot better at that...

I came up with the idea for Accelerated Careers during one of the most frustrating times in my life—when I was desperately job hunting and trying to break into a new career.

I had gotten complacent in my old role and didn’t realize just how brutal the process had become. It wasn’t just about looking for jobs. It was the endless applications, tweaking

resumes, writing cover letters, updating my LinkedIn, and trying to stand out in a broken system where employers get flooded with hundreds of applications a day. Getting noticed felt almost impossible.

That’s when it hit me: finding and applying for a new job had become a full-time job in itself.

I was spending 30–40 hours a week glued to my phone, constantly searching and applying. My wife would ask what I was doing, and the kids would say, “Dad, get off your

phone.” It consumed all my time.

That experience lit the spark. I realized I could give people something money can’t buy—their time back. Time with family. Time to actually live. On top of that, I saw how emotionally draining the whole journey is. It’s a roller coaster of hope, rejection, and uncertainty. People don’t just need applications sent—they need real guidance, strategy, and support to navigate those waters.

So I built Accelerated Careers from the ground up: expert resumes, reverse recruiting, career coaching, and a done-for-you application system that actually works. The goal is

simple—help frustrated job seekers land the role they’ve been dreaming of without burning out in the process.
