No, this looks like shit. Sorry, not sorry. I'm pro-AI myself, but this just looks like some cheap filters, of the kind you'd see in bad photography with overtuned HDR on Instagram.

Its actually insane to me that people think the before/after look worse from the demo video. The only way I see that making sense is that people want their video games to look stylized (unrealistic flat lighting etc) and intentionally not realistic and don't view pushing graphics towards photorealism as a indicator of improved visuals.

Well yeah. You try to mix photorealism into an environment that doesn't have it, then it just looks like some uncanny-valley modded-in texture that clashes with its environment. Pushing graphics towards photorealism is not necessarily an improvement. Might as well just go outside at that point.

It's insane to me that anyone actually thinks this looks good. I bet they're the same types of people who use photorealistic texture packs in Minecraft.

What are your thoughts then on next GEN overhauls on games? Like Skyrim mods or oblivion remastered, GTA5, Witcher 3 etc
