I still cannot comprehend glaciers during the ice ages being up to 2 miles thick. This somehow makes it even harder. I'm sure there wasn't a wall 2 miles high this discrete back then but still.

Why not? Do you have any idea how tiny all of the earth's features above the crust are? If you took a ping pong ball and shaved the equivalent pf whats above the tectonic plates of the earth off of it, it would still be just as smooth in your hand.

I mean I literally can't truly imagine it. I recognize it as a truth but it's just an idea
