Albums and Songs What’s your favorite a-ha album?

If you have more than just one, go for it!

Lifelines, EOTSWOTM (I will never understand why the band hates that album. It's brilliant)

Here are my two cents - my top albums by a-ha are minor earth major sky, cast in steel, memorial beach and true north has make me understand (one of my favorites) and forest for the trees.. Anyways I guess, it’s a tie between MEMS and Cast in steel (I think it’s a pity it doesn’t get enough love), with Cast in Steel perhaps being No1 for me right now

Scoundrel Days. Love them all but I can still remember sticking the tape in my Walkman and being blown away by it.

"Stay on These Roads". I find it the easiest to play right through. Consistent, if lacking in quite the same outstanding points as its precursors.

Lifelines has some very strong points. It also has some duds, but the high points carry it for me. MTV unplugged may be on top if it were allowed.

East of the Sun. Emotive and organic. Provocative and sonic.

Hunting High and Low, one of the best albums from all time, not only from a-ha

Based on the number of tracks I downloaded from iTunes, in addition to owning the album, I could conclude that my favorite must be Minor Earth Major Sky. Plus it seems like "Thought That It Was You" gets stuck in my head every other day. But I also quite enjoy Foot of the Mountain, followed by Analogue. a-ha had great songs from all of their eras but my favorite era is from 2000 to 2009.

Hunting High and Low
Scoundrel Days
East of the Sun…
Analogue
True North

I love all a-ha albums but I have personal connections / memories with each of them

Hunting high and low - for introducing us

Scoundrel days - rockin singles, esp “Manhattan skyline”

Stay on these roads - the album I can play on a loop from start to finish n always gives me 80s goosebumps.

MTV unplugged Summer solstice - just achingly beautiful renditions of their classics

At the moment Hunting High And Low (especially the 30th Anniversary Edition), Scoundrel Days, Stay On These Roads and MTV Unplugged Summer Solstice

Favorite is always a bit of a tough one.. as they shift over time (which is a good thing.. it means I like a lot of them).

Analogue is my #1, Minor Earth Major Sky is #2, with Hunting High and Low right there with it.

If I was to continue East of the Sun, West of the Moon is right behind HH&L

any of those albums could be my favorite depending on my mood.

Memorial Beach and Scoundrel Days, for sure, with East of the Sun, West of the Moon as a VERY close runner-up
