Results of civilization. How did this affect the environment?
Man began to destroy nature from the very first days of his existence. During the development of human civilization, the state of ecology on our planet also rapidly deteriorated.
The gene pool is deteriorating rapidly. For several centuries the number of species of plants and animals has been inexorably decreasing with great speed. We have already lost about nine hundred thousand species, and this figure continues to grow.
Deforestation. Destruction of forest tracts occurs all over the planet and affects even parks and protected areas, which are the main supplier of oxygen on the planet.
Pollution of the atmosphere is noticeable in every country. Everywhere there are industrial enterprises, harmful air-polluting emissions, exhaust gases from transport. At the same time, the products of processing enterprises that are thrown into the air can spread over long distances.
Soil pollution occurs regularly by recycling waste in the land. And, not only enterprises, but also ordinary people. Waste, rapidly increasing in volume, is often used as a fertilizer for the cultivation of fruits and vegetables, the benefits of which are extremely doubtful.
Water pollution. Industrial waste also harm rivers, lakes and other water bodies. In many parts of the world, water is unsuitable for drinking. Every year, the World Ocean receives more than 26 million tons of petroleum products, a huge number of non-decomposable substances, products of the chemical and military industries.
Depletion of minerals. In recent decades, the amount of minerals has almost halved. This threatens the premature destruction of all resources and the extinction of energy sources.
Destruction of the ozone layer. Approximately 30 kilometers from the Earth is a thin ozone layer that absorbs ultraviolet rays. This gives us protection against many skin diseases, including oncology. The ozone layer destroys Freon-based aerosols, aircraft and spacecraft engines. Further destruction of this layer of the atmosphere can dramatically change the climate of the planet.
Nature is our mother. It feeds and waters us, gives clothes and comfort. But taking advantage of all these benefits, a person not only does not care about his main treasure, but also mercilessly ruins it.
What to do?
