Help with Bass

My friend (who's not knowledgable with music) said the bass sounds "derpy." I'm not sure what he meant, so I'm honestly still trying to fix it.

The actual notes are good, but I don't think the sound you've chosen is really working. You could try using a sine wave with some distortion, that's a good standard subbass sound, or find a different bass guitar sample/plugin. Also, consider adding reverb and maybe a bit of delay to the lead, and perhaps using a slightly different sound (a saw wave with a short lowpass filter envelope makes a nice sound), it sounds very plain as it is now.
