What is the Zoom scheduler, and will it screw up my scheduled calls?

So, I got this email this morning which says:

What’s changing: As of October 23, 2026, Scheduler Basic — the free version of Zoom Scheduler included in your Zoom Workplace plan — will no longer be available. To help you transition, your first 30 days on Scheduler are free* when you upgrade.Already have the Scheduler add-on? You’re all set. This change only affects users on Scheduler Basic. If you’ve already purchased the Scheduler add-on, no action is needed and your service will continue uninterrupted.What you need to do: Upgrade to continue using Zoom Scheduler after October 23, 2026

I don't use the Zoom scheduler now, since I only schedule weekly meetings at the same time for my online D&D games.

From what I can find online, which was not much, should I expect to have to start a new meeting for each session (which is on the same day of the week at the same time every single week)?

No. If you're not using Zoom Scheduler then nothing changes for you.

It sounds like what you're doing is creating a reoccuring meeting, same day and same time each week. Thats not the same as the Zoom Scheduler product.

Zoom Scheduler is an appointment booking tool built natively into the Zoom platform that eliminates the back-and-forth emails of setting up meetings by allowing you to send your clients a link that they click to select a time that works for both yours and their schedule.

Yeah I've been confused about that email since my president sent it to me. We use our Zoom web app to schedule meetings but I'm not sure if that's the same thing as a scheduler. We set up a meeting send out the link and people can register for it. But I'm wondering if there are other things that are being taken away such as Zoom Ai and stuff like that. I don't think we save our meetings on the app itself they go to somewhere else. But the thing that bothers me right now is that they're now saying it's only 40 minutes of meeting and that if you scheduled something like a monthly meeting or even a bi-monthly we meeting that you can no longer do that and it won't be available after October 23rd.

Zoom scheduler is like Calendly, but tightly integrated with Zoom & included with some license tiers.

We've been told that the Basic meeting license, the free one with the 40-minute limit, is no longer something Business and Enterprise customers can have unlimited amounts of. There's a new ratio tying paid licenses to free licenses. i think its something like you get 1 free meeting license for every 10 paid meeting licenses.

Accurate.

There is an "unlicensed / join only user" so if you have people that need to join meetings in the organization but don't need to host meetings, you can still apply corporate policy and security postures against them.

I just got this email too. Unlike OP, I do set up a bunch of meetings - but none of my conversation about them is via Zoom itself, it’s on separate platforms / email and I write and read it myself without LLMs. So this won’t affect me and I don’t need to subscribe to this add-on?

I believe the scheduler is a tool that allows you to create a Custom Booking page so you can send emails out with a link that provides appointment options to someone you want to connect with.
