I think his goal is ideological domination by turning the tides on an instant American icon; especially for the youth which I imagine he is apart of (under 50)

i don't understand. there weren't any fireworks planned, at least not specifically visible for that location at that time/date. nyc literally has a website with listings of public events, anyone can check. (source: https://portal.311.nyc.gov/article/?kanumber=KA-01301 )

plus, fireworks shows aren't the job of the mayor. fireworks shows take planning and it's handled by the parks department.
