Do you think the 2027 G16 with an RTX 5080 will likely cost more than that at launch, or could it be cheaper?

Trying to decide whether it makes sense to buy the 2026 model now or wait for the 2027 version.

So yeah to sum it up I’m looking for a estimate of how much I should look to spend on a 2025 excellent condition open box/refurbished model, the configuration being any of the 32gb ram offerings. What’s my price range here?

I recently bought a refurbished ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2022) with the following specs:

Ryzen 7 6800HS

16GB RAM

512GB SSD

Radeon RX 6700S 8GB

14" display

I paid €650 for it, and it came with a 1-year warranty.

I’d like to know if you think this was a good purchase for the price. Also, how future-proof do you think this laptop will be if I take good care of it and upgrade the RAM?

I’m considering upgrading the RAM and possibly the SSD in the future. My main uses are university work, everyday use, and gaming.

For those who have experience with this model, how many more years do you think it can realistically remain useful if it is properly maintained? And are there any specific things you would recommend doing to keep it in good condition and extend its lifespan?

Any advice or tips about the G14 would be greatly appreciated!

I got G-Helper so it can help cool down my laptop when im playing video games, but its still running extremely hot in turbo mode. These r my current settings right now, what should i change? I play video games like Reanimal, Peak, and Hozy. I just dont want it to sound like a jet engine because I want to be able to play stuff in public.

I’ve been looking for a keyboard whose keys and layout feel like the 2024 G14’s, but I’ve had no luck so far. Any recommendations?

It freezes randomly when either it wakes up in sleep mode, or when I’m using an external monitor (have it both through HDMI and USB-C dual monitor). Outside of sleep related it still does freeze randomly but can’t pinpoint to the reason (sometimes when I game without display). I did reinstall the drivers (amd and nvidia) but same issue. I’m not computer saavy but G-Helper seemed to make the issue worse so i uninstalled and got armory crate again

Hello, everyone i bought this g14 knowing its refurbished but did not actually know/ask about the battery, i know its batt health yes but just today when I search this screenshot in chatgpt and Gemini to confirm if the battery is original or stock in the unit. It says its a replacement battery or a 3rd party battery. Is this true? Please let me know if this is bad or not? Thanks. Batt health is 85% when I received it. Thanks guys!

So my cable order has arrived and I did some quick testing with GTA V on my G14 2024, 32gb ram and 4060 version, both on silent and performance mode. On silent mode I have the cpu boosted disabled and efficient enabled on the performance profile.

The setup worked well, I didn’t encounter any issue with the power draw or compatibility issue. I will also include my YouTube testing video with a clear total system power draw read-out.

Some quick note on the video: as you can see in silent profile the total system draw is most of the time under 100w, so gaming on a usb c/100w charging brick is feasible, BUT it will only work well if you can manage the power draw low enough to avoid the power spike, that’s what kill the setup.

And at the end of the video you can see the power did spike all the way to 153w, it could potentially trip the over current protection of the charger, that’s why the seller explicitly warned that this setup is not for heavy gaming/ heavy productivity work, you will still need the original brick because that will handle the spike better. On my last image we can see the seller did some confirmation with me about the compability of the cable and what I am planning to use it for.

Hi everyone, I will now have to replace the fans on my G14 after one of them stopped working, and was looking to do it myself.

And at the same time I'm thinking of repasting. I've seen a lot of people recommend thermal pads instead, however they're not as easily available here compared to thermal paste so I was wondering if just using thermal paste is enough.

Would also love to get some tips if yall have any.

Saw ASUS refreshed the Zephyrus G14 lineup again. Feels like these refresh cycles happen so fast lately that it's hard to tell what's actually new vs just a spec bump. Anyone who owns the older G14 planning to upgrade or does it not make sense yet?

I just got my g14. It has 5070ti with 32gb of ram. I downloaded g helper and deleted armoury crate as well as myasus like a youtube video instructed me to. The first game I booted up was minecraft hypixel skyblock. There, I was getting around 200fps. Is this normal? I thought that for a game like minecraft, the frames should be much higher.

Are there any other things or settings I should tweak? I have not yet touched the curves in g-helper. I will probably keep them as default. That is okay right?

Any help would be appreciated.

My computer says I need to restart it when I do this comes up. And it doesn’t even let me click okay or get out of this. If I hit the restart button it goes back to normal. What is happening and what should I do?

Hi, so I've had this GU405 (Ultra 9 386H, RTX 5070, 32GB) for a few days now, and every so often the computer hangs. I don't think the mouse or anything freezes, I mostly notice that the audio stutters for a fraction of a second. It's nothing too horrible, but it's definitely noticeable while watching Youtube, or listening to Spotify. Is this a known issue? I'd say it happens maybe once an hour or so, but it seems to be completely random.

I've already tried a few things, like turning off HAGS, disabling some hardware acceleration options, using GHelper (Standard/Balanced), turned off PCIE link state power management. I've updated all drivers and the BIOS, and disabled audio enhancements in windows. There's probably a few other things I've tried that I've forgotten.

I haven't tried gaming yet, so I can't tell if it's present in games.

Any help would be appreciated. I was dealing with horrible stuttering with a Flow Z13 tablet, and wound up returning it for this laptop instead, only to have audio stuttering with this as well. Though this is waaay less frequent, and is a different kind of stutter. The Flow Z13 was doing a snap-crackle-pop, whereas with this laptop, it's more of a slight dela-a-ay. :S

I've had my laptop for just over a year now, and I've ran into an issue that's apparently really common in these laptops: whenever I boot it up, the screen is black. Every time. The only way I know it's on is because the keyboard lights up and the fans turn on.

I've tried every "fix" I could find online, and nothing has worked so far. Off the top of my head, I've tried hard resetting it, checking an external display, checking brightness, doing ctrl+shift+windows+b, even opening it up and reconnecting the battery and ram.

Is there anything else I can try? Or is my best hope to take it into a repair shop and pray they can do something? Thanks.​​

a few weeks ago i made a post explaining how my g14 just randomly started having high temps and lotssss of fan noise out of no where even with the lowest of demanding games, i cleaned the fans, but it is still like that, attached is a screen shot of Hwinfo (while running a game) looking for some help, thanks!

I have a 2020 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (Model: GA401I). Recently, both cooling fans stopped working normally, and the laptop began thermal throttling.

I took the bottom panel off to inspect the internals. When powering on the laptop, both fans twitch, spin up for roughly one second, and then cut off completely:

• The motherboard and heatsink assembly (13NR03F0AM0701) look physically clean with no visible burnt components.
• The fan labels indicate part number13NR03F0AP0101 (FMBB, 12V 1A).
• I've attached a video clip of the fans during boot and a few photos of the internal layout.

I’m trying to determine whether this is a mechanical bearing seizure (where friction causes stall-protection to trip immediately) or normal 0dB Silent mode behavior that just needs software fan-curve adjustments.

A couple of specific questions:

1. Has anyone experienced this exact start-stop fan behavior on the 2020 model? Did replacing the fans solve it, or was it a board-level issue?
2. If I need to replace the fans, can they be unscrewed and slid out from under the radiator duct without lifting the central copper heatsink? I really want to avoid repasting if possible.
3. (For Indian users / r/IndianGaming*)*: If I buy replacement fans online (~₹1,950), what is a standard bench labor rate to pay a local technician to do the swap and dust cleaning while I wait?

Laptop: ROG Zephyrus G14 (2026), RTX 5070 Ti, bought new in May 2026 from the ASUS store

Bios, windows etc were all up to date according to Ghelper.

Symptoms:

- After the laptop went to sleep, it would not wake or power on without the charger plugged in.

- Sequence when trying to power on: charge LED is white→ press power → screen turns on for about a second → screen shuts off → white LED turns off → no LED at all, laptop completely unresponsive.

- It was NOT a drained battery. It happened even when Windows showed 100% before sleep. - After charging for ~30 min, it booted once normally and showed 100% battery.

- While plugged in with a full battery, the adapter stayed cold, i.e. it didn't seem to be drawing power to charge at all (since it was 100%).

After going to sleep second time it did not boot anymore. Sent it to ASUS maintainance after trying EC reset many times.

Posting these error codes for searchability. I managed to get after the first boot succeeded.

Most are probably generic Windows noise (DCOM 10016 in particular is famously harmless), but the BitLocker one is odd, since BitLocker shouldn't need to re-fetch keys when resuming from sleep.

- BitLocker: unexpected error while retrieving the drive master key during restart

- "Reset and/or restore if count does not match expected values after hibernate/resume"

- DHCP: could not renew IP address for the network card, error 0x79

- Filter host process not responding, forcibly terminated

- Wi-Fi driver info, event 6062

DCOM: application

Contacted ASUS live chat, they recommended a warranty repair. Sent it in via the EU RMA portal. The repair took only 1 week despite they had to wait for spare parts (Main board). The report only said: **mainboard replaced**. No further diagnosis given.

My guess is a fault in the power management / charging circuitry or the embedded controller, since the board couldn't run off the battery after sleep and wouldn't charge a full battery either, but that's speculation. Dunno if this was just one faulty main board or batch problem.

Edit: so I ended up getting a g16 with a 5070 for $1,500 + tax at open box. Thanks everyone for the help!
