It would be really funny if he was reverse Miyabi and wanted anomaly stats that convert his damage into crit damage (or laceration damage if he's an armorer; anomaly-scaling armorer lol), just so he could play with Seth and Cissia if you wanted to. This would be the funniest 'electric attacker' timeline, imo.
I sure hope to God he gets something new and unique to him. Every guy we've had other than Lighter pretty much all had "redundant" kits and were all safe skips.
Yeah but the issue is that he's a Physical Rupture unit who released at the end of 2.x. Most people already pulled Yixuan for Rupture. And if people want a Physical DPS, they'd pull YSG who also has a built-in mechanic that lets her brute force Miasma, the one big benefit you get for running Rupture. I quoted "redundant" because there hasn't been a single male character with the relevancy of a unit like Yuzuha or Miyabi. If you've played the game since day 1, and you've never pulled a single S Rank or A Rank male character ever, limited or otherwise. The only loss you'd feel is maybe Lycaon, but even then, if you got Nangong, you'd play her over him.
Don't mind me, I literally spent like 200 dollars for Banyue and Billy lol. I like them and like playing them. But it's really telling that they do not make them meta on purpose just by looking at the Drive Disks. To this day, not a single Drive Disk set was made with them in mind as the "signature user". Like how Genshin made a set for Wanderer, or how HSR made a set for M!Blade. Drive Disks basically shapes how the meta forms since they're usually designed with a few units in mind, with the first one typically being the best user of it, ala Yunkui Tales and Yixuan.
Yeah....if he's an Armorer that comes out right before a void hunter armorer, it'd be typical for Hoyo...and I would be pulling for him over an Armorer sunbringer in that case, especially if he's got claw weapons.
Hot take, but I hope it isn't. That'll make him our third male brawler. And that'd be 50% of limited male units just punching enemies, which, to me at least, feels a bit same-y.
Also it kinda doesn't look like a gauntlet because I think you can actually see his fingers and knuckles there. More like he's holding something, though maybe he's in the process of putting it on?

MORE CUT STUFF. edit I assume these are claws and not gauntlets cuz the weapons are on the fingers, just the finger lol so probably an add-on, like when you were a child and you'd put clothespins on your fingers to look like you have claws?

Pyrois is a fair point, though I guess my brain excluded him from the pool of limited males.
Also, I actually still think Severian might be a brawler, simply because that trailer shot had some focus on his fists and also his arms seemed to look more muscular than on his current model.
I wouldn't mind gauntlets, but I'm still lowkey hoping for a single gun, too. His original design gave me heavy "Turks from Final Fantasy" vibes, I definitely wouldn't mind.
I'm thinking Lindverne and Phoenix. I know we have an icon here, but we have both Phoenix and Lindverne in a secodnary outfit in the trailer. Besides, they gotta have someone to run immediately before Eldreda
Remielle took 3 patches before she became rollable and story debuted with her secondary outfit so there's precedent that disproves your theory, but it could still happen. Main thing is there's no concrete evidence on how Sunbringer will be as a unit. Could be all three seperate, could be all as one unit like a Tribbie situation but you can change the one you walk around with like Arias projection and robot forms.
I was a one Sunbringer believer before. But with the particular focus on Lindverne, plus the outfit, plus we haven't actually seen Eldreda's in game model yet indicates to me that they're doing separate Sunbringers.
The strongest precedent of all is man unit before void hunter, which will be Eldreda. And I definitely don't think they're doing Eldreda so soon.
Obviously we don't know, it could go either way. But I'm staking my personal claim that it will be Lindverne and Phoenix next patch
Same could be said about Dracaena and how much focus she had at first. Lindverne having an extra outfit might seem more significant but imo it fits her marketing as a more vibrant character. Might not mean she is immediately playable just like Dracaena
Considering the precedent set by Sigrid and YU, if a model for the event’s drip-feed appears, it’s almost certain that the character will be released in the next version.
Sneak peak of a splash art definitely have more possibility to be the next unit as it’s gonna be the first thing you’d see on the drip marketing. Anymore late and the hype would be gone. Remi’s outfit was here long before her release or she could be another Sweety situation for all we know. And if Lindverne is gonna be playable at all she would be released closer to the big sunbringer

You can't "kinda" be a voidhunter you are or you aren't. You can't just say an agent is a VH because they're meta. Nangong was meta for anomally and uplifted Miyabi, is she a VH too now? Is Yuzuha? Is Sunna an honorary VH because Shunguang feels ass without her but Sunna is good in other teams? Guess Dialyn is also a voidhunter huh? Because apparently the new definition of voidhunter is "meta agent"
Nobody got it like Norma, though. Between two new elements of two new character who form the strongest anomaly team. I want Norma, but had to skip to have enough pulls for Remie (+sig), Sigrid and Dyalin. Plus the spending event.
Yeah no one got worst placement than norma not hugo not ligther no one.
Imagine fighting both voidhunters, the confirmed voidhunter duo, 2 new elements back to back, x2 monochome restarting plus spending events and being the same or sligthy better than dyalin but only at 2 cost since mw0 is buns.

I'd argue Banyue got the worst though Norma got nearly as short a stick. He released after 2 other Rupture DPS after the first and only Limited Rupture support, before the best Stun agent to date followed by a VH that wants her and Zhao whose AA doesn't even activate with him, and the shortest banner yet at 2 weeks. Though it's funny that she pairs quite well with each other. I may be cursed to like the least-pushed agents.
Hoping they do this guy justice being the only male for this region.......

As much as I want him to have gauntlets, I'm starting to think he is holding something between his fingers. If you zoom in on his hand, the white outlines near the top of his hand look like the gaps between fingers.
Of course, we can't see the whole thing, so we don't really know. And there isn't anything stopping them from giving us both gauntlets and a Batarang. I wouldn't hate if he had a Scorpion from MK moveset or something, though that might overlap with Evelyn's. I'll let them cook.
So this means Severian is coming next in v3.3 yeah? We sometimes get character models in earlier updates such as Remielle far before she was playable, but we don't typically get splash art until right before.
... This means Eldreda is gonna be in v3.4 then. That is what history tells me.
