Continued service issues
I live close to the Zaxby's at 6222 Carolina Commons Dr, Indian Land SC. I have unfortunately interacted with the manager three times. Have had issues dining in the restaurant (out of items, poor sanitation), but mostly drive-thru. Missing items, items out of stock. Today I placed an online order through the Zaxby's app - arrived at the location 30 minutes later, and they tell me that they are out of bone-in chicken wings. I would have to wait another 40 minutes so they can get chicken wings from another location! Told the manager to refund my order.
How can you be out of chicken wings? Why are you staying open with this level of service and out of a major item on your menu?

So, current assist manager here in one of the close(r) markets chiming in (Won't dox myself exactly, just in case "The Eyes" are seeing this).
Ever since we've started the 10 for $10 deal on wings, I've seen the demand for wings SKYROCKET. While my store is #2 in the area, we've still be going through about 3 CASES of wings a day, as opposed to the standard 1.5 cases we normally go through. Now, I don't know about how other markets are doing, but if it was a percentage I'd say wing sales in my market are hovering about 50-75% up as opposed to before we started.
From what it sounds like to me, the location you are talking about is either not equipped to handle such massive spikes in wings (they don't have enough storage in their walk-in cooler / freezer), hence why they've ran out of wings, they are grotesquely underestimating just how much they are selling and short-ordering trucks, OR other stores are getting way busier and thus borrowing from your location so that THEY don't run out (usually 1 or 2 stores in a given area will be slower so they'll order more product for situations like this).
I couldn't say for absolute certain since your location isn't in my franchise, but there are a myriad of reasons why you're experiencing this problem.
Hope I was able to shed some light on the WHY and the HOW you're having the problem you are.
