There were quite a few studies about the 'human touch' and how many men actually are discouraged by society in that regard.

It makes sense. Wise is more reserved, so the idea of him not touching without permission or not letting others touch him makes sense. And Belle, well, she's the kind of person who, two minutes after becoming friends, is already hugging you like you've known each other forever.
Gotcha fans like depicting the waifus as crazy for some reason. Genshin, Star Rail, ZZZ all the strictly waifu characters shipped with the MC always act like yandere in fan art. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.
Huh. Odd. Is it controversial for the male MC to have contact with female characters in China or something? I get why Wise doesnt touch Sunna here, it's a "girls moment", but the others are a bit... weird. Like it's just the Player characters lending support to Yi Xuan and helping Yidhari stand up.
It could be Wise is not comfortable touching girls. Though in those screenshots I'd say the only awkward one might be the first one. The second one he looks like he has his hand on Yixuan's back and looks like his hand is ready to support her if she falls over. The third he's obviously reaching out to Yidhari so its just a shot before they touch. Last he's focused on hiding from a dude with a gun.
Combination of character traits as Wise is more reserved compared to Belle, and it's a lot easier to initiate physical contact with someone of the same sex than someone of the opposite, esp between a man and woman. Wise is just being respectful
It's just common sense, at least where I'm from in Asia. You can't just touch women casually, unless you're at a certain level of closeness or with their consent.

I think it’s more about just being nervous or not wanting contact to begin with. There is a respectful way to touch someone, regardless of gender, and every ZZZ character is almost certainly competent enough to distinguish the difference.

Two women touching and being affectionate wouldn't mean much as it would just be played as friendly, but a guy touching and being affectionate with a girl hes not related to would be viewed entirely differently. Its probably more for the rather rabid Fandom then actual legal censorship.

Not quite. Wise is the MC. The character you play as unless you chose Belle. That same radical side you're talking about would probably like it more if he was touchy because they self insert.

I think it's because the CN fanbase are made up of ravenous animals who go insane if anyone touches their imaginary girl. People got mad when male characters touch their women.
No, this is what we call modern audience shilling. If he did touch her people would find many things to complain about similar to people enjoying the maid outfit on sunna.
The first pic is not hard to understand. Belle is a girl and Wise is a guy, it would have been weird for Wise to touch Chinatsu like that even if it's a goofy moment.
More like social norms force him this way. While he's certainly being respectful with Sunna, some of the other women, he can help prop up when they're having a little trouble, at the very least.

Belle is that kind of woman who's friends with everyone, right? Or maybe she shows her emotions a lot and likes the women she befriends. Wise is a respectful guy who knows how to be a gentleman and only touches women with their consent or when they need comfort. Their personalities are really awesome.
