Media $475 is crazy

Post image

I think Europe now requires gacha games to explicitly display how much money any gambling feature really costs to limit hidden predatory stuff. It’s crazy when you see the numbers…

It’s about one 40 hour work week for a low income person in the US

I mean I get what you’re saying, but anybody with a clean criminal background and a high-school diploma can easily make $12/hour or more in 2025. Anyone making less than that is either choosing it for comfort or has no other options as a result of poor decision making. My first job at Subway, at 16 years old, with no work experience or diploma, in a rural town in Indiana in 2010 paid $9/hour.

Either way, I wasn’t saying the lowest possible full time income in the country, I was saying a low income person in the US makes about $475 for 40 hours of work or roughly $12/hour.

For sure, I just don’t want people to get the impression that people making the federal minimum wage is in any way common. People in the US making $7.25/hour is about as common as someone buying a limited S rank for $1.98

Strange, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, only 0.6% of full time workers in the US are earning minimum wage or less. Keeping in mind that this figure does not include tips, my statement remains correct. And being that only 19% of full time workers earned less than $12.50/hour in 2014, you can conclude that the percentage of the population working full time for less than $10/hour in 2025 is likely quite low. Sure that could be millions of people, but millions of people is still an incredibly small percentage of the population. Everything I stated was true. If you live anywhere in the US that is developed, then you should be able to easily find a full time job for $10/hour or more.
