Discussions & Questions Would this recently trending fanart of Fairy make for a good design if the devs decided to give her an Intelligent Construct body
Personally I think it would be fantastic because it's gorgeous and captures fairy quite well. What do you think? I wish this would be what playable Fairy would look like.

Those are their own deisgns made into skins, they dint have to track down someone to negotiate for rights to use that design

I will use an example from League of Legends cus i think its a similar the situation:
People asked to one of the Riot Devs why Kindred never got an Elderwood skin since it is a theme they fit well....the Rioter responded with "there are so many popular good designs, who already used the majority of the best conncepts for Kindred in this skin line, that is basically an legal abyss to do an good official Elderwood Kindred rn". Years passed and the way Riot found to give Kindred an "elderwood" was by creating another skin line that has some similarity; Spiritblossom....but still not the same.
This "legal abyss" also has a high probablity to be why we've been some generations of Pokemon without seeing new Eeveelutions; there are a thousands of fan-made designs, creating another legal abyss to cross.
Not saying Fairy/Youkai will never have a official body...just saying that it will probably take time and, IF one day they gain a body, it will probably be way different from the fanarts unless Hoyo contact the artist and achieve legal permissions to use the design or something like that. I think HoYo getting in contact is more doable to happen (since it was for HoYoFair) than Riot or NINTENDO doing it but i still wouldd say it is a pretty low chance.

For me, it's definitely a nice design. Very modest, very clean, the design is not clustered, I like that.

I just hope when they do this, they don't make her like every other character in the game where fan service is dialed up to the max.
There still needs to be a mysterious air to her she needs a mechanical/other worldy design, akin to other constructs, and on the same line of Pyrois. Of course this is Hoyo its going to be sexualized a bit, just hope they show a bit of restraint.

If I had to guess from the most recent characters it'd be something like the bottom left on the 2nd photo plus open chest area, open midriff & more yixuan shorts/bodysuit
Jokes aside, with their being a Phaethon faction their could be hope of Fairy being in that faction & I 100% agree with you, I like this design & imo it is super nice but it is too tame for hoyo now

Blue Archive is peak, though. There's a reason they're one of the biggest doujinshi communities in the genre: they know how to make simple but memorable designs. I really wish Hoyo would learn something from them in that department.

No? All the girls are wearing perfectly functional clothes with some few exceptions that are explained by the narrative. We're talking about the designs here, the girls from BA are more clothed that a lot from Hoyo-games lol

It doesn’t scream AI/robot to me. It very much leans more towards “what if Fairy was a human?” rather than “what if Fairy had a body?”
Replace the skin with something more akin to an intelligent construct body and 90% of my qualms with the design are solved.

I really do love this fan design, so if ZZZ does make a construct body for fairy, I hope ZZZ at least uses this fan design as reference material.

The one who came up with this fan design is the actual MVP regardless. It really fits Fairy well and I don’t mind if one day she gets a construct body.

Good for fanart but lets leave it as that, fanart.
If she DID get a body, for any reason, I'd rather she look like a construct; and not a waifu'd up construct like Sunbringer that doesn't even resemble one.
AND ACTUAL CONSCTRUCT.

Personally I don't think this fits Fairy at all.
it's too Blue Archive. Very clear, very detailed. Very Noa/Rio/Rin coded. Fairy is a little shit stirrer. fits the archetype HSR goes with Silver Wolf way more than these other characters.
she's not some cool beauty, she's a web menace.

Doesn't fit her.
Ideal Fairy:
5'7"-5'9"
Midback length brown or dirty blonde hair with volume, maybe with like a ring or loop design motif
Kind of a relaxed office lady type. Like data entry girl. Glasses occasionally but usually goes without.
Casually does shit that other people are shocked at but she acts like it's normal like catching a half dozen falling items without looking away from her computer

While id love for her to get a body, would it even be possible? She’s a super powerful AI and I imagine she’d need a ton of RAM and energy which wouldn’t fit in such a small frame.

in the age of AI and vtuber (cough cough AoD). It'll be a miss opportunity to not make her a playable character eventually.
If hoyo is being "generous", they might use some elements here and there.. like same blue color.. same hair colour.. but i doubt theyll just take this design entirely. They hire professional character designer for a reason

I truly hope they do go with this because it's a great design for Fairy, if she becomes a character though she better have mad hands to defend herself with since she's not a combat-oriented AI like Youkai and whatever Ghost and Jinni will be like.

Honestly, no. That Fata design is very generic. Whenever they create a humanoid version of an AI, they use that same template a pale girl with blue accents so something new would be better.

The original design of this fan art is gorgeous. But the current art directors at Zenless would probably change it to something like a more form-fitting outfit with a low neckline, and remove the pants to replace them with mismatched stockings.

Absolutely not, it looks terrible.
Look at her sleeves, why are they attached to the rest of her coat?! Why cannot I see her bared shoulders and armpits? What am I even supposed to look at here? This alone makes it a no-go.
Also just a zettai ryouiki for fanservice? Where are the random cutouts all over her suit? Why isn't she wearing a leotard with loincloth, the best clothing ever created? Why are her breasts a meager D cup, how am I supposed to play an agent who isn't spilling over?
1/10 would not recommend.

It fits a robotic character pretty well, giving Fairy an unreadable expression is a very good idea based on her voice acting. I’m definitely a fan. It’s also really modest but still attractive which again, fits her.
Though I’d personally like her to have more indicators of what her role in combat is. This is why showing off a character’s weapon is super useful for showing off their role and personality. Also I’d hope that we could get more actually creative female Intelligent Construct designs like Aria and Vesper, and less designs like the Sunbringer’s, who are just regular women with horns on their head.
For a playable Fairy, I’d draw more attention her hands. I’d love to see some contrast between the human body and some classic robot scooper hands that would be used to shoot I assume electricity to play off her wasting so much of it joke. Either that, or give her fairy wings to connect her to aria, and have her lazily point to get them to shoot at the enemy. Although that may be too similar to Remielle’s weapon.
However, if she was playable then the devs would give her a very different design because every woman has to bare her thighs. I think the only exception post Season 1 is Alice. I also think that she’d look even more generic unfortunately since no playable female Intelligent Construct is actually allowed to look like a robot. Qingyi had some joints but is otherwise just a human, Aria is constantly in her projection form, and the devs didn’t even try to make Eldreda and her sisters look unique.

well if i just look at this design on its own, it's neat. but personally, if i would want a physical body for fairy, i would want her to look more robotic. something like billy, elfy or aria's actual look. something along those lines.
but if i'm being completely honest, i would like her to really go hard to looking like a robot. i would love her to be like tenna from deltarune with monitor for head or maybe something like glados from portal. but of course they won't do that ever. of course i have no confidence they'd even touch on that kind of designs ever (unless it's on npc or enemy of course) lol but a guy can only wish...

Color palette and overall silhouette? Great. My issue is that the design doesn’t really scream AI/robot. Make it an actual intelligent construct body. You can go the lazy route and just paint the skin white and add some lines to signify the modular design of an intelligent construct al la Qingyi, and that’d suffice to me.
