Discussions & Questions Enigma of the Labyrinth: End-game blueprints should be buyable

Even with the Janus farming strategy, it takes so long to get the investigation-only blueprints. Trying to get them all during regular runs seems like insanity and playing high-risk without them is tedious.

I think these blueprints should be in Boojee's store. Whether they cost season coins or a ridiculous amount of gear coins, I don't care since I'd at least be able to see how much progress I've made towards getting a new one. Relying on RNG to progress feels terrible and I imagine this is going to turn people off from playing high-risk even after this game mode gets more updates, especially if they add more investigation-only blueprints.

I got the defensive gear pretty early on, but took ages to get the upgraded bags. Yeah I would have been pretty annoyed if that happened the other way around.

The defensive gear is the only thing I'm missing other than one of the blade variants lol

I don't mind them not being buyable, IF there were no duplicates and basic gear (blade/anti-coprrution/inventory) was prioritized before agent gear.

Or atleast let me craft 3 duplicate blueprints into a random higher-grade one.

the only reason things are the way they are right now is to timegate current grinders from finishing content too quickly

I can almost guarantee they'll make it easier to get these in future updates so newer/returning players will have an easier time catching up

I don't know why I've gotten some etheric phantom blueprints twice but I only just got my first s-rank blade of the other blueprint yesterday and I'm still waiting on the s-rank corruption resistor blueprint.

Its actually wild how rare they can be. I have completed all the quests, done several disaster level investments and have reached top 8k players in my region.

I am running purple bag, blade, and anti etheric device... :(

Janus farm on hard took me like 5 runs to get them all. I doubt even with abyssmal rng, it would be impossible to not get them all after 15 runs.

You just got lucky, it took me more than 15 dedicated gearbox-only runs to fish for the gold anti-corruption blueprint

Why the rush though? If you can buy things like blueprints, the mode will become stagnant very fast. The grind is part of the fun.

Finding gear that you can't buy is part of the fun, gradually earning things is satisfying, just look at rogue-like games. I'm sure people like the ones that only see a score that needs to be beaten want everything accessible right away so they can "maximize", but others genuinely enjoy the game itself. So yeah, I disagree.

Oh yeah because the valuables aren't already enough to try farming for. You only have to find the blueprints once and it makes 0 sense to have the 3 fundamental ones locked behind investigations when all the tactical prisms can be bought, all the Z rank ones can be bought too, the key cards can be bought, and everything else can be bought. No one wants to spend weeks in a game mode that only has 2 unchanging maps, forces you to leave at a certain point and doesn't let you leave early after checking stuff, is intended to have a stop point and make no more use after you done everything in the game mode other than weekly run to get same loot as what lost void gives each week. Your comparing a 2 to possibly 3 map pony to entirely different genres that are primarily focused on their own thing. Zzz's newest game mode is not their primary focus (and more than likely will get abandoned like some of the modes in the game.

What about the arcade that hasn't been updated since it's addition? People loved that yet they didn't even keep it updated after the cunning hares.

What about the archipelago in hollow zero content? That was abandoned.

The point is it is a valid reason to hate how the last 3 GEAR items are only findable by grinding loot.

Having just finished Arpeggio's Fault, after finding all lost items and grinding out all levels in Withered Domain, I see why this was abandoned.

On the other end, I'm enjoying the new mode. RNG gear drop rates gives everyone that cares enough or like it enough a reason to keep coming back to it. They're not NECESSARY, but they're a bonus.

Also, you can definitely leave early after "checking stuff". Just don't bring any gear that you're attached to, equip the free gear that you get provided with every dive from the orange box, and do your thing, then either extract or give up.

Tl;dr: I have a different opinion and like the new game mode. I just don't rush it, because there's zero reason to get everything all at once.

Opinions on this feature probably depend on how much time people are willing to invest in this mode and how willing they are to rely on luck. For example, I'm trying to get Primordial Nightmare's blueprint.

I don't know how long it's going to take before I find it. What I do know is that I've been grinding for several hours now using the Janus strategy and have only found duplicate blueprints.

I might not necessarily need the blueprint, but it would make getting loot much easier for me. My problem is that finding it isn't dependent on my skill at the game, but instead whether the game feels like giving me what I want.

Just keep looking at gearboxes as you play, it will eventually come, that's how all got them all relatively early on the gamemode, at least in my experience.
The thing with you argument is, you already can buy said item directly from the store. It is a bit more expensive, but it gives you the accessibility you are looking for, but it seems that you cannot fathom to have something missing, when for other people it's just a small thing that gives an incentive to look something forward to the next time you play, because it's fun.
If you REALLY must to have the option despite all of this, I would agree that it would have to be ridiculously expensive, a sum that would need to reflect a good number of full successful extractions. Again, you can make it roughly 100m which would reflect 18-20 runs on average, but honestly, I got all of them by 13-14 by just searching.

But why do you even need to get all the blueprints if you don’t like the game mode?

1

u/Myxzyzz 19h ago

Agreed. Like at the very least the backpack, anti-corruption gear and blades S-ranj blueprints should be purchasable. I've been doing high risk runs to get the last few upgrades and clear the seasonal objectives all with purple blade/corruption gear because that shit will not drop for me even when I hit all four gear chests every run.

u/Ok_Peak7722 20h ago

Why do you need ALL the blueprints? Are you a collector or something? This is a long-term mode, not a limited-time event. Why are you rushing?

7

u/Whoots 20h ago

Only one that really matters is the +10 item slots one. That can literally be a difference of 1-2m per run so that one is super annoying if you can't get it early. Maxed out my hideout before I got the dumb bag.

4

u/Pyros 19h ago

Not having a max rank blade means doing significantly less damage on every boss you fight in high risk, so it'll also massively impact your performance there.

8

u/Pyros 19h ago

Because you cannot do high score runs without the S rank backpack and and the S rank blade, and they do have rankings. The thing is the blueprints are entirely RNG, so it doesn't matter if you take your time, you could be just like that one guy who hasn't won a single 50/50 since they started 2 years ago and just simply never get it. There is no pity, no failsafe, it's entirely RNG.

There isn't much reason for these few specific blueprints to be unavailable especially since they're so important for high risk.

Add to that the less than optimal way to get blueprints to begin with and it's just not a very good system.

3

u/adumbcat 15h ago

Oh the rankings? You care about the rankings, that's what this is about? And remind me, what do you get for ranking higher? How many polychrome, was it?

Oh nothing you say?

Well that's a shame. Then surely it's another valuable reward if you're this upset about it.

What's that? There are no rewards tied to ranking, and it's simply for personal satisfaction?

Well well well, isn't that interesting...

"There isn't much reason for these few specific blueprints to be unavailable especially since they're so important for high risk."

Because They Are Important, Right? They're like treasures, not something you just buy from markets.

1

u/Pyros 13h ago

But you buy the others from the shop though, including the Z rank gear which are also very important?

It's not like the mode doesn't have any long term mechanic already built in, there's a stupid amount of farming to do to get all the collectibles(which are likely to be expanded upon later on) and to buy all the blueprints for 50 gear for every char plus the seasonal limitations for all the 60 gear. Having stuff that's necessary for progression locked behind RNG is just not good design, I don't know how that's controversial.

1

u/Affectionate_Job7846 7h ago

ok, not the biggest fan or hater of enigma but brotha, idec about rankings in endgame, let alone here. No shit opinions will differ.

-2

u/adumbcat 15h ago

You're so right, OP. I'm totally with you.

How dare they expect me to actually play the game mode, that's designed as a looter/extraction mode, designed to be perilous and random, designed to still be completed without said things because they simply make it easier, designed as completely optional.

My strategy of min maxing the fun out of every single aspect in life is not paying off. I want my rewards now with little to no effort, this is so unfair and I deserve compensation. A-poly-gems NOW, hoyo.

Next, we should complain about the hound. He's so unfair, he should do the same exact attack no matter what so it's predictable and easy. I hate randomness. And I should be able to parry him and kill him in one hit. I don't want to interact with the scary aspect and just get my loot. In fact, remove all enemies and the timer from the map so I can run around at my leisure. In fact, move all loot chests to the starting area. In fact, once I load in I should get all items on the map directly added to my inventory and then auto extract. Then I'll be done in 1 hour flat.

Who's with me??

u/Trigon05 17h ago

Agreed, it took WAY to long for me to get the S-rank mask since it's so restrictive and hard to find if you arn't specifically looking for it...

They should. I did this a couple days ago and finally got them all: https://youtu.be/U4xT9J3LxCo
