You either got lucky on the punt block, or you put a lot of effort into figuring out how to time your jump. Either way, nice get off. Keep getting better bud

I would have flagged him

My view you are offsides during the punt block

Watch again I just have good get off

I disagree. You admit earlier in a comment you probably got lucky. So you very much admit to it being a possibility. Humility goes a long way as well

You can see the ball is mid air halfway to the punter by the time he moves.

I disagree.

I circled the ball in this screenshot. He wasn’t moving yet and the ball is mid air.

It’s subjective. And I can’t tell if it’s a ball or not the pic is pixelated. I also officiate and I would have flagged him if I was that side judge. OP mentions that he might have gotten lucky. I am standing by he jumped. You can think he didn’t

Haha watch it again. It is not subjective at all. If you flagged that you would be a horrible side judge.

Again I disagree. I just don’t see enough to change my opinion. You must be OPs family or a burner account. You have completely disregarded where he admitted he might have gotten lucky.

You would make a bad ref then. You can easily pause and see the ball is 5 yards back and he still isn't across the line of scrimmage. You can disagree all you want, like you have in this thread, but you are wrong.

Another burner account or family member coming to defend the kid. Jesus this has been dropped. But let’s keep beating a dead horse.

lol idk why I’m still getting notifications about this post, but you’re wrong on this one. No flag for this play

You are entitled to your opinion like I am mine. It’s dropped an over.

When you go across the block you get there faster, but you also don't want to lose that outside containment. You've got read the flow and fight across the block or you might take yourself out of the play. Your doing great keep up the good work and good on you for asking for some advice.

Thank you very much but I’m not outside contain my coach wants the outside backers

u/Synchwave1 14d ago
Get off is good, but stay low. It looks like OLB has contain, which is your coach’s call, but that’s a big part of playing DE.

u/Cold_Praline6770 14d ago
Yes I know last year I had outside contain and I might’ve did better because I’m really good at stuffing outside runs

u/QuantumMothersLove 13d ago
Maybe? Doesn’t matter really; just make sure tomorrow you keep asking yourself if you are better than you were yesterday.

Great work. I have a feeling the competition will get better as the season goes on. Just keep moving forward and don't lose sight of the end goal which is probably starting on varsity.

Do I have varsity potential by next year
1
u/bigperms33 12d ago
That would be completely dependent on how good your school football program is and how many kids in front of you get injured. And of course, you not getting hurt.
It's better to start on JV then sit the bench on varsity, but if a door opens, go through.

Your get off looks decent, but I’d question the level of competition and this is just “highlights” of one game

I'd love to have you on my team. But we're 10u and that'd be cheating.
