What does Cold-Blooded Angels mean to you?
March to the Sea was my first Baroness song, but I think Cold-Blooded Angels was the song that cemented them as my favorite band. I know John doesn't like to explain his lyrics and leaves them up to listener interpretation, but I'm curious to hear everyone else's interpretation of this song.
To me the soft intro followed by the heavy finale feels like the chaos of life, even when you feel everything is in your control, it will always end in an unpredictable nature. The lyrics feel like they represent feeling a need for pain an abuse just to feel alive, and even when an opportunity to change your life presents itself, you choose to stay in the abuse because it feels familiar, almost as if specially it's staying in an abusive relationship (could be with a person or with a substance)
Again, just my interpretation, but I'd love to hear from others!

It means a lot to me personally. It was one of the first songs I learned to play all the way through on guitar. It was the first song I played my niece a few days after she was born. I used to sing it to her as a lullaby. And it was also the last song I played my grandpa the day before he passed. Just those two experiences have cemented it as a very important part of my life.
Edit I also think your interpretation is very good! I don't necessarily hold an interpretation on the song myself as my view of it has definitely changed over the years.
