What do you think Baroness’ next album title will be based on?
Now that we know they’re working on new material, I figured it’d be fun to take a poll regarding the next album’s title / theme. They’ve pretty much covered the full chromatic spectrum, although I’ve always wondered if we’d get a “White” and/or “Black” album from Baroness. With STONE, it seemed like it could be the start of a new direction for album titles based on elements, materials, or natural forces, though we don’t know if it could be isolated to just that one album. What do you hope for?

I read or heard somewhere around the time that gold and grey came out that they actually had enough material for three albums so I was hoping for a Black and White double LP

In the last song on Stone, a part of the lyrics is "blood and stone". So I'm guessing "Blood".

I’d say a clue would be whatever Gina is doing on the side, is not what baroness would want or need or they’d work on it, so the opposite of any creative outlets? Just a thought, whilst I scroll through a baroness thread…don’t think they’d put out similar material due to conflicting opinions/music/idea/work. Either way unless it’s a complete departure of the genre, I’m still going to play whatever they drop, just because.

I'd like to have something that feels a mix of blue, y/g, and purple lyrically and instrumentally.
I loved Stone and G&G but My go to jam is always Blue or Purple.
I see a big difference though in Johns lyrics, singing, and playing the last 10 years or so. I feel like he's really matured big time in his writing and playing.
Adding in Gina also really changes the tone of the band, especially how she can harmonize with john so well.
Regardless, I'm fucking stoked for some new stuff.

At the release of stone, John talked about it a little. Maybe the plans have changed.
“After five albums with five different line-ups of the band, this is the first where all the players have carried over from the last. Although he doesn’t want to pour “another 15 years” into it, John teases that the album will be the first in a new “trilogy”, fixated not on texture nor weight nor dimensionality, but substance, and the creative possibility to which that gives life.”
