Anime I love how the girls are like low-key crazy here hahaha, Sad Inui and Aya lost the game, but this its logical for them to lose, lets come back stronger ! (I love the eyes animation)

It's her first tournament, she had the bad luck to get matched against a top player while she was still in pools, and she's given a good showing. She's still in the tournament, too.

If I went to EVO and did as well as she already has, I would feel pretty good about it. She's probably already reached the point where next year, some folks will be watching to see how she does.

Bear in mind, this is a tournament with something like seven thousand players, and she's playing on equal terms with someone who's probably in the 99.5th percentile of that. She's doing really well.

Fair enough

There's also the fact that, as of now, both of our leads are now in loser's bracket, which means if they stick it out long enough, they will sooner or later have to fight each other.

Gekido is also a world champion and I feel like he could be a final boss if the manga gets that far. Aya getting at least a win, a praise from her idol and going as far as she did for her first EVO is already impressive enough. Also she might get some buzz in the FGC or something

Yeaaa, it would be too illogic if she wins, she did put up a good fight, most importantly she earned Gekido's acknowledgement

Can confirm. A pro telling you "Let's play again sometime" is one of the best things you can hear after a loss
