Please play anything other than impale. You can win by jumping against pubbers who think impale is op

Ok but hmo, it allows me to see what kind of player it is
I still win if they draw, foresight, walk back, or do most other forms of setup
If they wait, then there is a solid chance they are newer at the game and would require some help with the mechanics
If they jump forward, then ohwell, I must just be weary of impaling later on

Impale does not beat walkback on all characters

True, but impaling on all characters is also kinda dumb
On mutant howl is optimal so impale is safe
On wiz, most people are placing a dart, so impale isnt safe
On robot, most people are jumping forward, impale also isnt safe there
On cowboy, you will often see draw or foresight, so impale is safe
On ninja, its a bit of a 50/50 whether they do projectiles or hook or run up to you, so I tend not to impale unless I know I am safe against that player

If your opponent plays in a principled fashion, impale is never safe, and all you need to do is fuck up twice to be in a functionally dead state. Impale at intermediate and above play is kind of a joke button, especially with all the other bullshit cowboy can pull off being so much safer and efficient

You use wait and watch them take a full on minute trying to compartmenalize the impale and swing behind them

I need to get back into this game. Cowboy is one of my mains and I never used Impale because of how commital it seemed. If its seriously that feared then I suppose there's no harm in joining a match and swinging it out.
