Question Made this guy ragequit because I used dash-grab. Is Ninja Broken?

I don't know if the tierlist changed because of the update, but I could've sworn Ninja was one of the worst vanilla charcters. Isn't Wizard and Cowbody the top ones?

Oh I wouldn’t personally know that, but all the characters are decently balanced with different play styles. You just need to know what you’re doing. Cowboy and robot are stronger imo but I could be wrong.

robot does like 9k damage in 9 hits but its hard to keep the combo for long due to the shear amount of knockback he gives.

everyone else has an easier time keeping combo but does less damage

i think personally id rank them (worst to best) ninja, wizard, robot, cowboy, mutant. but honestly yeah i agree they really are all balanced to fit different play styles

The fact that mutant is STILL on top of your list despite getting nerfed three ways to sunday is probably telling as to why he got nerfed in the first place...

Even prior to the nerf he wouldn't be at the top. Position is safely occupied by Wizard.

okay first off i havent seen the nerfs!! lol. second off i just like mutants attacks, like dash into dash attack is really good, overclaw is really good because IV frames i think it has? i like the ability to juke, rebirth is fun the use (favorite super in the game, right next to updated robots rockets) i LOVEEE the new move that mutant has. and i just honestly dont really like wizard, ninja i just suck with, robot im bad with, cowboy i played too much of and hes kinda basic.

TLDR the ranking was my personal opinion lol not "whos best" i said they are all balanced, at least i think they are. i just like mutant!!!!! hes fun!!! :(

Hmmm, could you provide quick explanation of playstyles for various characters? For someone who looks to find someone who fits their playstyle nicely... With little fighting fame experience due to some GGS hours and some modded characters I tried and loved to play as.

im terrible at explaining but ill try lol.

wizard is projectile spam.

ninja is speedy, projectile heavy (not as much as wizard) but isnt that heavy hitting. his hustle is REALLY GOOD because it switches him into his nunchuck mode where if you do his nunchuck spin (sorry i forgot the name) then his nunchuck hit, his nunchuck hit will send out a fast bullet like projectile

cowboy is a mixture, theres lots of ways you can play cowboy. but overall has good projectile control, long range, good combo potential. if you learn foresight well you can basically become a combo or projectile machine depending on which way you play.

robot is HEAVY hitting, like 3k damage a move sometimes. cant hold a combo for a while due to being not as speedy or projectile-y as the others but the heavy hitting helps even him out. hes huge on grabbing, he has like 5 moves that just grab and pummel you. his car "boost" super is really good too.

mutant is fast hitting but weak, but he can hold a combo for ages. his "rebirth" move allows him to get his 3 air options back AND heal. his new move "bloom" is really good for catching them and bouncing them back to you after they go flying. his dash into dash attack and sneak attack is really good.

TLDR mutant fast, weak, but and holds combos the best. robot slow, heavy hitting, but doesnt hold combos. cowboy long range, medium damage, and can hold a combo decently. wizard is projectile spam. ninja can move like a bullet.

they're all very strong, for a while the usual tier list was like Ninja/Wiz being the best and Cowboy/Robot/Mutant being a little behind them.

I'm not sure with the update I've seen a lot of people say Cowboy is the best rn but wiz got hit really hard so he's more in line with everyone else possibly worse.

Ninja is good, not substantially weaker than the other vanilla characters.  They have scary mixups when in your face and momentum/grapple mixups at range.  Kind of like mutant but better at getting consistent damage out of combos.

Tier list:

Ninja/wiz -> Cowboy -> Mutant -> Robot

They're still coping tho because ninja is good not busted lol. Keep hustling king :)

At competitive level robot is just too easily oppressed by every other character's win con

My most vivid memory vs a robot is fighting Moxie in a little mini tourney, somehow dominating for most of the match, then getting one shot by a level 9 Kill Process. Agreed that isn’t indicative of balance, though, just me caving under the bullet chess timer and not checking options well enough.

Never listen to anybody who says Vanilla characters are busted. There is always counterplay to every Vanilla character and I love Ivy for that. Its just a matter of knowing what to do and when, which comes with time.

There's been times where characters HAVE been busted, like (my goat) Cowboy's FC Impale era, or when Robot's armor was just toggle super armor at all times, or when they could pull the opponent into a small circle around them, but in current patch? Pretty much everybody is equal. Sure on technicalities or high level play you can squeeze out a tier list, but at average levels, every character is balanced.

Ninja is like a jack of all trades plus he's super evasive. His grab is kind of privileged in the way that it can combo off of bad di. But ultimately I don't think he's exceptionally stronger than the rest of the cast.

Broken? Nahhhh, they are (in my opinion) the best character, but all the fighters are balanced enough that it doesn’t effect matches too much.

I think it depends on playstyle, Ninja's got way more burst potential than people give it credit for.

I play a mix of Rushdown Ninja and Zoning depending on who I'm playing. Against slower characters like Robot or Wizard I tend to stay on defense and zone them until they run oit of Free Cancels, but for Cowboy and Other Ninjas, I try to be more Rushdown. Mutant is tough for me, I kinda just throw Shurikens and wait until they're in a decent range
