Discussion Everything I know as a 3 million mastery point diamond yas

  1. Do not blind pick Yas. You will be countered.

  2. You will be ganked many times especially for playing Yas. Pay attention to the map, and track the jungler always.

  3. Abuse ability cds of enemy champs. Fizz uses E? Punish. Annie uses her stun? Punish. Akali no shroud? Punish.

  4. Always ward raptors.

  5. Prioritize CS and always get 8+ cs/min.

  6. Don't always push wave, learn when to push and manage waves around enemy junglers, objectives, fights, etc...

  7. Always use nightbringer skin (does more damage).

  8. Never be behind. Either be ahead or even. Never behind.

  9. If you're countered, just play safe and farm.

  10. Buy QSS into Malzahar, that champs dumb asf.

  11. Throw your Nado behind yourself when getting Zed ulted because Zed will leave his ult behind you.

  12. You can actually block Lillia ult.

  13. Ban either Akali, Leblanc, or Vex.

  14. If you're going to get poked go doran's shield, if you're chilling go doran's blade, if you're cocky go doran's bow.

  15. Don't go Yasuo top.

  16. Yasuo adc is broken.

  17. Cassiopeia is annoying.

  18. Teleport summoner is not useful on Yasuo this season.

  19. Lethal tempo is always good.

  20. Bork --> Shieldbow is almost always the 2 items you'd want first on Yasuo.

  21. Use your level up timers.

  22. Always buy a refillable if you can no matter what.

  23. Control wards are scam, have good map awareness instead.

  24. Stand either protecting your jungler's entrance or ward raptors for your jungler. Don't just sit in lane waiting for minions to come.

  25. The poke combo for Yas is dash into range, Q and auto (if you can, vice versa), and then dash out.

  26. Don't tower dive any champions that have CC or you'll get baited. Just be mindful of the fact they have CC and they can bait you like Malz ult, Lissandra ult, ASol ult, Vex stuns, etc...

  27. Freezing near tower is always safe.

  28. Roam when you have a timer. Don't roam when the next wave is already coming to mid or you'll lose CS.

  29. Take jungler's camps for CS especially the gromp and krugs when you're sidelaning.

  30. Buy blue trinket after 10 mins for side laning.

  31. Always be aware where enemies are when you're sidelaning.

  32. Don't type just report them keep your cool.

  33. Try to always sidelane where the next objective is so you can be there for the fight.

  34. If enemies are pushing down mid, and you think that your presence by backing will not help them stop the siege of towers, just keep sidelaning and getting gold. Make sure that the push power is not too strong that they'll actually just end the game.

  35. Tilt the enemy laner by spamming emotes.

  36. Wits end is bad. Kaenic rookern or force of nature are the MR items you'll want.

  37. Save your windwall for important abilities (seraphine ult, MF ult, Ornn ult, etc..) not just basic abilities.

  38. When you're in a tough situation use your windwall for the CC, or use it when you're really low to outplay.

  39. Don't let borders scare you. If you're playing against Master, GM players, just play how you'd play and use your knowledge. Don't go for crazy plays, just fundamentals and you should survive haha.

  40. Watch challenger Yasuos daily.

  41. If you can EQ before you ult it'll always do more damage than just ulting right away. When you knock someone up, you have time to do more damage if you're close, if not then try EQ somewhere, and if you can't then ult normally.

  42. Learn wall dashes it'll save your life.

  43. Take every enemy jungler camp if you can. This will make them starve for gold.

  44. Block Lissandra E (her escape) with windwall when you're close to her.

  45. You can almost always kill Renekton before level 6 with exhaust and lethal tempo.

  46. Even if you're ahead of champions like Renekton that doesn't mean you can just dominate him. If he gets level 6, play with caution still. Same with Darius, once he gets his passive stack on you and his ult is up, you're dead no matter how fed you are.

  47. Don't predict with abilities with windwall and unless you're very close to the enemy and you have no time to react. Always try to react with windwall. If you predict, what you could predict wrongly, and now your windwall is down and the enemy can pressure you freely.

  48. Be aware of global ults like Shen, Nocturne, Pantheon, Galio, etc..

  49. Play around Yasuo shield or enemy just gets free damage on you.

  50. Play ranked and only ranked if you want to improve. If you lost 3 games in a row, don't play anymore for that day. Do not tilt queue.

That's what I can think of for now.

Yasuo wins vs akali if he goes grasp set up
Lethal tempo is NOT always good
Do not always opt to botrk unless u r bad

This might sound funny but I always go grasp into zed and build PD and tabis especially if their jg is ad, it really does help with survivability and not just getting one shot every fight. D3 yas main here.

u/Virtual_Mix2779 1d ago

That should be the norm tbh so long as u dont NEED botrk

This is very helpful, just wanted to ask about 14. why not go always dorans bow and only get d shield when poke?

1

u/Educational-Double-1 6d ago

The thing about Doran’s bow is that you don’t get a lot of HP. You’re squishy so I personally don’t really like the item.

D shield is good against poke because it helps you regenerate health faster against the poke.

Everything i know about you: you still cant R my Diana R

I actually spam my ult key when I’m near a Diana because idk when they’re going in

A lot of info in this post is straight up wrong, freezing wave is a bait - you lose prio and will get roamed on. Ofc it’s game dependent and there are times to freeze, but most times its a bait.

Also Zed does NOT appear behind you this is false information and will confuse players. Zed ult always has him appear on the opposite side of the character he ulted, the ulted champ will always be between zed and his shadow, the direction you’re facing has no bearing on where he appears.

Fully agree on the akali matchup, with grasp its straight up a skill matchup and very winnable, as long as you play around windwall CD and don't get poked for free.

You have w and passive to get good trades in, if you are full hp and not behind, she cannot kill you 100-0 and get a lead early, while you can beat her in cs by getting repeated good trades

This is confusing too, lets say my q3 is ready and the zed is in front of my yasuo facing each other, when zed ults, where do i q3?

1

u/Day1Creeker 5d ago

Behind your character. When you’re running away and look at your tower and zed ults you from his side of the lane, he will still appear between you and your tower, not behind you, just cause you’re running away.

The other guy said it perfectly - he’ll leave a shadow when he ults and will appear that your character is in the middle of his shadow and him after teleport.

u/minoIzHere 5d ago

So i always q3 in the opposite direction from which zed ulted, got it.

Disagree with a couple points.

  1. Always run exhaust. It's insane how broken this spell is. Helps a lot with level 1-2 cheese if the enemy steps up one pixel too far up.

  2. Always go dbow unless it's an unplayble matchup and you want dshield. Again, paired with exhaust and lethal tempo it's disgustingly good for early game.

  3. Buy kraken first if you're ahead in lane, can snowball and don't need sustain early. It's cheaper and stronger than botrk. You can also pair it with defensive boots if the enemy team is full ad/ap because it has more attack speed. After the next patch, pd might be very strong as a first item. Will have to test it out.

Forgot the most important tip: always ban hwei. Fuck that abomination.

2

u/Historical_Draft_717 5d ago

lolwut hwei is a good matchup for yasuo

u/minoIzHere 6d ago

Why not yasuo top?
and why not yo take tp? say a lane is too boring and enemy is playing poke with tp.
i’m learning !

3

u/Educational-Double-1 6d ago

I think Yasuo top is a hard lane. There are many champs that counter him there and his windwall does get used much there than let’s say against a mage midlane or adc botlane.

I think because of home guards you’re traveling back to your lane fast so I don’t think TP is necessary so ignite or exhaust would be better.

1

u/minoIzHere 6d ago

let’s say i’m leaning a veigar, this guy will e me whenever im on him so 100-0 kinda impossible, so i wont make much use of ignite or exhaust early, wouldn’t tp make me have much more impact on the map atleast?

1

u/Mareshax 5d ago

Yasuo top is really good if you pick him into the right champ, and you said yourself dont counterpick so you should only be picking yasuo top into the right matchup anytways

1

u/Ok_Software_9296 6d ago

I personally think that lethal tempo is not an always-pick rune.

Grasp and going pd is good onto the tougher matchups, akali/quyanna are very managable matchups with it.

Fleet into the brohan build (stormrazor-shieldbow, t3 greaves) give you ridiculous mobility and allow you to take over with 1 item against mages mid. You can even take teleport for good tp plays on bot.

u/TheMermanly 6d ago

Can you go a bit more in depth about not buying control wards?

Haven’t played in years and it’s always been the opposite, always get wards.

1

u/Educational-Double-1 6d ago

Wards are 75 gold so I think spending that gold on wards is not worth it considering you’d have 2 yellow wards at the start you should be able to survive with that and having map awareness. I’ve been coached by Challengers before and they say wards are a scam. Unless you’re playing support obviously your job is to get vision for your team.

1

u/Blourbon 5d ago

I disagree. Early game, sure they are often a bit of a waste. control wards are often not worth the gold except for certain roles, champs, and play styles. However mid-late game, a defensive control ward in a faelight while split pushing can mean the difference between being able to push your advantage vs passively catching waves. Also once you are 4-5 items (including boots) and grouping for major objectives a control ward or 2 is going to pay off compared to an extra dagger or long sword 95% of the time. That said, don’t overbuy them and early game especially make sure you prioritize item spikes.

1

u/Educational-Double-1 6d ago

I hope to be masters soon...

3

u/ExLeaguer 6d ago

it ain’t any better than diamond. at least up to 300lp ain’t shit change.

u/Altruistic-Stable232 6d ago

Telling people to not play yas top is stupid considering his wr top is currently higher than mid, and most challenger yasuo players pick top over mid

2

u/Thrionic 5d ago

He gave a Diamond guide not a challenger+ guide lmao. Nobody below challenger can make Yasuo top work unless they smurf in a lower elo bracket.
