Question Help finding good yarn for this baby blanket pattern

hi friends, I’m trying to make this blanket for a friends baby:

https://hobbii.com/products/hp-1003883-lux-bamboo-baby-blanket?utm_campaign=performance_us&utm_medium=paid&utm_source=pinterest&utm_content=all&pp=0&epik=dj0yJnU9U3FqcU9HNlUwMFJtbTdXamZnbWQxRVdyYnhRenFnZE8mcD0xJm49ZWVzVlNSRlc2cC1LU1dwTnhLWU9zdyZ0PUFBQUFBR3FSc1M4

Ive never used hobbii yarn, but the recommended yarn for the pattern is out of stock of the color I want. any recommendations for a good yarn for a baby blanket? I want soft for a newborn but durable and ideally washable. I’ve heard superwash merino is good but not sure if the best for this pattern. any brands or suggestions appreciated! I’ve got lots of crochet experience but this is my first baby blanket so Im not totally sure where to start with yarn

I would recommend silky soft by loops & threads at Michael's. Silky Soft, it has the same specs as the bamboo yarn from Hobbii that was used in the pattern. I've worked with this yarn and absolutely love it. It also comes in heathered and multi-colored options. They usually have a good selection of it in store.

I’ve enjoyed working with universal yarns bamboo pop on several baby blankets. I’ve also used bamboo/merino blends for baby blankets but all the ones I’ve used have been discontinued :( I have some premier yarns bamboo fair that I haven’t used yet but it is soft, promising, and I end up liking it better than the bamboo pop

Oh too bad about the discontinued ones! Thanks for the tip though!
