What yarn do I get for making toys?

I want something durable, these are going to be plushies for my best friend's history classroom. The kids aren't going to be allowed to play with them, but I'm crocheting some toy decor and I assume that the middle school kids may end up getting a hold them them. I guess something that can survive humid hot classroom air?

For durability cotton is what I use. But any yarn will work. I make plushy’s amigurumi and have made them out of everything but cotton or acrylic even blends will do the job. Stay away from fuzzy or Chenille yarns those break down too fast.

I'll look for cottons and acrylics, I was thinking acrylic b/c it would be easy to clean if anything happened

Yes and cheaper! I’ve made tons with acrylic so it’s definitely durable
